A beautiful ball gown, a sexy sheath, a traditional trumpet, now there are more silhouettes to choose from than ever before. Today at "The Knot" photo shoot we'll show you some great looks that are new takes on the classic shapes.

Our first gown is a timeless A-Line. It's feminine, it's flattering, and it's great for all body types. Here Designer Kenneth Pool got daring with the details and added a contemporary circle skirt and an embellished V-neck. These crystal drop chandelier earrings add even more flare and accent the jewels on the gown.

In our next dress, art-deco inspired beading gets a modern update, this silk charmeuse gown has a scalloped dropped waist, chic box pleats, and daring decolletage. Dropped waists are very flattering as they help create the illusion of a longer torso.

A Sweetheart Empire is very of the moment. We love this off-white one by Matthew Christopher. Its modified sweetheart neckline accents collarbones and shoulders. And its diamond-encrusted smocked bodice and layers of pleated organza make it especially eye-catching. We skip the necklace and style our bride with a beautiful crystal lace bracelet, simple and stunning.

The form-fitted sheath is a sleek stylish option for the modern bride. Here a crystal beaded band breaks up a classic column dress, giving it a whole new shape, or try a trumpet sheath, like this English tulle and lace one, slinky stiletto sandals look gorgeous with this shape.

Two-piece options have become a popular trend. And Romona Keveza makes us a striking silk faille trumpet one. It combines structured fit with sophisticated frill. The pleated ruffled hem keeps a corseted gown from looking too rigid. And a creamy candlelight white is very flattering.

For brides who want a princess look, ball gowns remain a beautiful choice. This pickup silk taffeta ball gown has elements of modern whimsy. Layers of tulle peak out from beneath of billowy skirt and the oversized flowers add another touch of fun.

Our final gown by Justina Mccaffrey shows how over-the-top can be incredibly elegant. The extreme bubble skirt and beaded lace bodice give a new twist to a vintage mermaid styles. Feeling bald? Skip white altogether and go with color like this stunning blue, this shade looks especially great on fairer brides, the deep-V and buttons down the back also have a modern edge.
