The Great Wall

The Great Wall is known to the world. It is one of the seven greatest wonders of the world. 

The Great Wall lies in northern China and central China. It is over 20,000 kilometres long and 7.8 metres high on average. Ancient people started to build it in the 7th century BC. The Great Wall was made of earth, bricks and stones. People in ancient China built it to keep out enemies. 

The Great Wall is now regarded as one of the most famous tourist attractions in our country or even in the whole world. Every day, thousands of people from all over the world visit the Great Wall. It is also a symbol of China.
