M: OK.I started to like singing when I was little. My uncle used to play in a band.I tried to persuade him to let me sing in his band but he would have none of it. I started writing songs when I was about twelve. A famous singer liked one of the songs I wrote.He asked me to go to his studio and he recorded it. It was he who made me start my career as a singer. His support was greatly appreciated.

W: You went to an art school, didn't you？

M: Right.The classes were good. I had some brilliant teachers.They offered us plenty of chances to get out on stage.I learned a lot there.So I really liked it.

W: Are you working on your new album now？

M: Yes.I got lots of ideas for it while I was doing tours in Asia and Europe, so there are some different influences coming into play. I'm sure it'll be a big hit.

W: Great！And your immediate plans？

M: Well, there's nothing I'd like more than to spend some time with friends. But actually I'm going to be on tour promoting my new album at lots of summer music festivals. It'll be fun.

W: Unlike most commercial songs or movies, popular novels vary greatly in length. Most of the books have words ranging from 16, 000 to 250, 000 words. If there is an upper limit to how long novels can be, Marcel Proust reached it at the turn of the 20th century.His story In Search of Lost Time has nearly 1.3 million words, making it the world's longest book. The French writer's masterwork tells the story of his life. But many editors didn't accept it. Then Proust used his own money to have the first volume released by the Grasset publishing house in 1913. The full novel was published in 13 volumes. The last volume didn't come out until fourteen years after the first one. Though it's split up into many volumes, In Search of Lost Time is considered the longest novel ever published by Guinness World Records.This was determined by the book's impressive character count.In some editions, the total page count is over 3, 000. So if you' re interested in reading the book, give it a try.You may find it very difficult to finish reading it, but it is well worth reading.
