M: Why do you ask? 

W: My cousin moved to France a few years ago,and her daughter just lost her first tooth. It made me wonder about different customs. 

M: Well,most parents here bury their kids' teeth.

W: Interesting!

M: We believe it can influence a child's future jobs!For example, if you bury the teeth near a hospital,the child will become a doctor...If you bury the teeth near a school,the child will be a teacher...

W: Where did you bury your teeth? 

M:On a sports field.I wanted to be a famous soccer player! 

W: Ha ha! How funny!

M: So, what do they do in France?

W: They put the teeth on the bed. Children believe that a little mouse comes to take the teeth away,and leaves money or candy in return when they're asleep. I think that is so cute!

M: And what do you do in Japan? 

W: We throw our teeth away! 

M: Really?

W: Yes,if it's a top tooth, we throw it on the ground. If it's a bottom tooth, we throw it in the air. A good,straight throw is meant to make your new teeth straight and strong.

For today's class,we are discussing the rise of e- business and the growth of online shopping.  Now as you all know,companies such as Alibaba have made huge profits year on year,but why? What are the benefits of online shopping compared to shopping in real life? The main benefit is the price.  Typically,you can get things cheaper online compared to in-store shopping.Why?Well,the online companies mainly pay for a warehouse to store their products.Their staff costs are much lower.The in- store model has to spend a lot on staff salaries and rent for the shops.The two models are completely different.While,what are some of the disadvantages of online shopping? My main complaint for online shopping is when something goes wrong,for example,a wrong product or a damaged product,  usually you have to send the product back and wait for getting your money back.It can be terribly slow.If I need something in a hurry to use immediately,for instance,clothes,I would still prefer in- store shopping.Also you can see the quality in person.Often when we buy something online,we do it blindly and simply rely on other people's reviews. So my question to you students is,what do you prefer and why? I'm looking forward to your answers.
