W: The School Cooking Competition will be held next month. It’s for students aged 12 and above, and students must enter the competition in a team. The competition includes two parts. First students must email the Student Union their idea of what they will cook. Then 8 teams will be chosen to enter the cooking competition.

The cooking competition will be held at a large university. There is plenty of space there. There will be great prizes for all the winning teams. These will include cookbooks, money and T-shirts.

Last Saturday, a charity sale was held in our school. I took an active part in it. I prepared many beautiful things such as kites and model planes, which were made by hand in my spare time. I believe the world will become much better if everyone makes a contribution.

Good morning, everyone. Good to see all the new faces here. Welcome to the Jefferson House, the oldest building in this high school. As you can see, the building has a dining room, a kitchen, an activity room and many other rooms for students. It was built in the 1840s and used by its first owner, a famous businessman, John Jefferson. That was how the house got its name.  

Do you notice the number on your key card? It begins with the letter N, S, or W. The letters stand for the three wings of the house — N for the north wing, S for the south wing and W, the west wing. The first number after the letter means the floor and the second number stands for your room. Well, that’s all. Enjoy your stay in a new school.

This Friday we will have the School Open Day. Now let me tell you the programme for the open day. At 10:00 they will begin looking at your class projects in the hall. Lunch will begin at 12:00 in the dining hall. Your parents will eat with us. After the lunch break, that is, at 1:30 in the afternoon, they will visit the library. At 2:30 they will enjoy a wonderful show. That’s the last activity of the open day.
