W: In the future, students should be able to cook five hot dishes before going to college. This is a new rule for middle school students. More and more college students have health problems because they can't take good care of themselves in college. It is important for students to learn some life skills like cooking. There are some life skill lessons for students to take.  Start learning some life skills now.

听下面一段录音，回答第1—2两个问题。现在你有10秒钟的阅题时间。

W: What are you doing, Jerry?

M: I am watching TV.

W: Can you come and help me with the housework?

M: OK, I am coming. What should I do?

W: Open the windows first and then clean the floor. I'll finish cooking.

M: OK.

W: We must finish these before 9:00. You know, the guests will come at 9:00.

M: Oh, we must hurry up. It's already 8: 20.

M: Do you like doing chores, Linda?

W: I like some, but I hate the others.

M: What do you like to do?

W: I like washing some things.

M: Washing what?

W: Everything. Dishes, clothes, and even my toys. What about you?

M: No. I just think it's interesting to cook, but I don't eat much.

 W: My name is Catherine. I do well in taking care of children. I began the work 6 years ago. I used to be a part-time teacher in a school in my neighborhood. I got my child care licence 3 years ago. I love children and I can get along well with them. I am looking for a family with 2 to 4 children. I can offer your children safe and fun classes. I'm able to help with their homework.  M: I am Reed and I have two daughters. Both of them do chores at home.Alice started doing chores when she was about eight years old. At that time, she did the dishes and swept the floor with me. She is ten years old now. She can  do the dishes  and wash clothes by herself. Amy is six and she started doing chores this July. She cleans the table after dinner, puts her own clothes away, and sometimes she likes to help sweep the floor. Her work is usually not very good.
