W:Honey, how are we going to New York for Peter's wedding? Today is Thursday. There are only three days to go.
M: Should we fly? It can save us a great deal of time.We need to arrive one day earlier. That's on Saturday.
W: But it's too costly. What about renting a car?
M: You are not skilled in driving. I'll get too tired if I drive all the time. Let's take the train. We could set off early.
W: OK. Then we won't miss the beautiful scenery on the way.
M: And we can also rest well.

M: I didn't see you in the office recently, Lisa.
W: I went abroad to visit the newly built solar farm. Have you read the article concerning it?
M: No. Where is it? In Asia?
W: No, in Africa. This plant will supposedly meet up to 15% of Africa's energy needs by 2050. People are often dissatisfied with the noise of wind farms, but that isn't an issue for solar farms.
M: I saw a documentary at the weekend about renewable energy in Scotland.
W: Really? It's not exactly the perfect spot for solar energy.
M: Not for solar energy, but for wave energy. It could provide surprising amounts of electricity for the people of Scotland.
W: It's amazing. They're all green and could help make for a safer future for the planet. I hope we could achieve a breakthrough soon in using them.
M: I believe we can. Our company's research is going smoothly.

W: I'm not feeling as fit as before. I guess I need some exercise, Jack.
M: You can have a try, Lucy. It is good for you.
W: But the problem is that I have a lot of work to do and I spend very long hours sitting in front of the computer. How I wish I could hit the gym every day!
M: I overheard a great way and I'm practising it.
W: Are you? What is it then, Jack?
M: I just fit exercise into my life and work. When I'm on my way, I try to walk as fast as possible and sometimes I even run.
W: Sounds practical. What if you are in the office?
M: I stand and even walk in the office when reading files and I walk and stretch while I think about some things. I even change the position of the computer so that I can use it while standing.
W: Maybe I can try that, too.
M: It's never too late to start. You can plan it out. It may feel tiring and boring at first, but you'll get used to it soon. Just do not give up and keep going.

W: Today, I'm going to talk to Martin Carter, who is going to make a rather special journey. Martin, please tell us what you are going to do.
M: My plan is to fly around the world in a balloon. I made a similar trip last August but it wasn't successful.
W: Are you going to use a similar balloon this time?
M: No. Last time I didn't have enough fuel to cross the Pacific, so I had to land in India. My new balloon is larger so I can take more fuel with me. It will become heavier but I'll be able to fly further.
W: What did you find the toughest on a long journey?
M: Well, last time I spent a lot of time talking on the radio. Because of that, I only got two hours' sleep a day. So that was a real problem for me. The food was terrible, but it kept me alive, so I didn't mind.
W: I heard that you took several books to read. Is that true?
M: On my first trip I took some books but I never opened them. This time any space I have will be filled with maps and I need room for my sleeping bag of course.
W: Well, what about the future?
M: My adventures started in a boat and I've already sailed across the Atlantic. I can fly a plane but I prefer balloons. Anyway, after this trip, I'll go back to my hobby of climbing. On my list are the seven highest mountains in the world, so I need to start before I get too old.

There are many different kinds of music in the world today. Here, let's talk about three different types of music — classical, rock and pop music. In the 1960s, classical music was almost something for everyone and the most popular music with up to four billion pounds in sales, but it has been decreasing in popularity ever since. By the 1990s, it had become the least popular of the three kinds of music with sales of just two billion pounds. Rock, which originated in the US in the 1950s, on the other hand, went from being one of the least popular themes in the 1960s to becoming the most popular during the 1970s and the early 1980s with sales of above four billion in a year. In the 1990s, rock became slightly less popular again, and has remained the second-most popular music ever since. Pop music had risen steadily in popularity throughout the decades from 1960 to 1980. By the mid 1990s, it had easily become the most popular theme with sales of around five billion in a year. Pop remained the most popular theme in the early 2000s, though by 2003 sales had dropped to around four billion.
