M: It could be because I play tennis every day. When I have a tight schedule, I still try to find time to go to the gym at least three times a week.

W: I need to do some sport regularly like you too.

W: Oh, many things. Recently I have been attracted to Chinese culture. I just watched Chang An last night. It is about a poet named Gao Shi who recalls his friendship with the poet Li Bai.

M: You are always enthusiastic about Chinese culture.

W: Ha! Ha! We can watch it together in my house this weekend and I promise you won't regret it, Bill. It really deserves watching.

M: Sounds interesting. How about Saturday afternoon? I will phone Lisa now to ask if she would like to go with me.

W: OK. I will buy some snacks before you come. 

W: It's your birthday next week, Parker. What have you planned?

M: I'm not sure. I often feel strange on my birthday. It's like my brain is facing an emergency.

W: It's not entirely unusual to feel anxious or sad around your birthday. Birthdays can recall a lot of things people worry about, including their achievements in life and their accomplishments of the past year. Many begin to search for the meaning of their existence and it leads to behavior such as ending or starting a relationship or plans, like starting a diet or fitness program.

M: I have wonderful friends and I love celebrating their birthdays. But I don't like being the center of attention and receiving gifts. It seems to contribute to a type of social anxiety.

W: Well, to deal with the birthday blues, you should not separate yourself from other people. It's best to gradually face your birthday with people you trust. That would help you learn that it's okay to be the focus.

M: Perhaps, or I could consider my birthday as an opportunity to do something for others like asking people to make a donation to those in need instead of buying a gift.

W: Exactly. You can also simply see your birthday as an opportunity to bring people together for them to have fun.

M: Hello. And what is it about?

W: I need a complete physical examination for a new job I'm about to take.

M: Do you have a form that has to be filled out?

W: Yes, I do — and it looks like I'll need a pretty thorough exam.

M: Can you email it to me? That way I'll know how much time to arrange for you.

W: Sure. Can you give me your email address?

M: I'll text it to you.

W: Good. I'll email the form to you right away. Will you call me back when you fix it?

M: Right.

W: Good evening, Mr. Stevenson. Our newspaper wants to carry some information about the smart house system your company has developed. Now, will you tell us about the new home your company has built? It promises to be a model for the houses of the future.

M: Certainly, Charlotte. The idea is not to have a smart house full of different things and functions but to make people's lives more comfortable.

W: OK! So how will the house achieve this?

M: When you arrive at the front door, you won't need a key. The door will open through facial recognition. You'll be able to control your refrigerator when you're in the supermarket and find out how much you need to buy. Isn't it wonderful?

W: Indeed. Can I control the washing machine as well?

M: Sure. But you won't need to. The house comes with a human-like robot. It is smart enough to actively do the cleaning, washing and all the other housework.

W: And what's the price of the new home?

M: A million dollars.

W: A million dollars! It will be the 22nd century before I can afford one!

Travel is like a box of chocolates — you never know what you're going to get, especially when you're using a blind box plane ticket. Such type of travel became trendy among China's Generation Zers earlier this year.

The specifics of each company's blind box may be different, but the main idea is the same: After you buy a blind box at a low price and select your departure airport, you will receive several destination options to choose from. These are usually less popular destinations, but they can actually bring surprises.

Generation Zers were raised in the age of the Internet and had early exposure to the significance of personal well-being. More and more of them have attached great importance to their mental well-being, recognizing travel as a necessary component of their lives. Off-season travel and less popular tourist destinations absolutely benefit from these insightful customers.

Even so, some people may feel disappointed with blind box plane tickets because they can run into this or that problem after purchasing one, such as inappropriate departure times and sudden flight cancellations.
