W: I’m calling to say goodbye.

M: When do you leave?

W: I’m catching the 11:00 train.

M: Oh, there’s only half an hour left to see you off.

M: Kate! Please come here for a second.

W: I’m reading a book. So what’s up?

M: Could you please clean up a little? It shouldn’t take you a long time.

M: Miss, where do you want to go?

W: Could you drop me off at the airport?

M: No problem. Fasten your safety belt first.

M: Here’s the menu, Madame. Would you like to have something?

W: A sandwich, thanks.

M: OK. Please wait for a moment. Your order will come soon.

M: It seldom rains this summer.

W: So some places are very short of water.

M: Yeah, it is serious.

M: What do you plan to do on Sunday morning?

W: Nothing special. Maybe go jogging.

M: How about going to the English corner with me?

W: Oh, I’d rather not.

M: Why not?

W: You know, I am poor at English, especially spoken English.

M: That’s why you should go there. If you don’t dare to speak English because you are afraid of making mistakes, you simply will never learn English well.

W: Yeah, it makes sense. See you then.

W: I’d like to see the manager, please. I have a complaint!

M: I’m the manager. What seems to be the problem, ma’am?

W: Had you had a housekeeper check our room before we checked in?

M: Why? What is wrong?

W: The toilet is broken and the water is not running in the shower.

M: What’s your room number? I’m terribly sorry about the inconvenience. We’ll move you into Room 2012 immediately. That’s a suite, but we’ll charge the regular room rate. Please accept our     apologies.

W: Certainly. Thanks very much for helping. My room number is 2102.

M: My pleasure.

W: Pam, where’s the closest ATM?

M: It’s not that far. Do you see that yellow building over there?

W: The big one or the small one?

M: The big one.

W: Yes.

M:The ATM is right next to it, on the right.

W: Do you know if there’s a convenience store around here?

M: I don’t think there’s one around here. The closest one is on 3rd Street, but that’s probably closed now.

W: I really need to get some things before I leave.

M: Well, you could go down to 22nd Street. There are a lot of stores down there that are open 24 hours a day.

W: Can I take a bus to get there?

M: Yes, but that will probably take about half an hour.

W: What about a cab? Will that be expensive?

M: Yes, it’s indeed expensive. You should just take the subway.

W: I see. Thanks a lot.

W: Good morning, sir. How can I help you?

M: Good morning. I left my suitcase behind yesterday. Has anyone handed it in?

W: No, sir. Where do you think you’ve left it?

M: I had breakfast in the restaurant.

W: Where were you sitting, sir?

M: At one of the tables near the fountain.

W: Could you describe it, sir?

M: Yes. It’s a black leather one with a gold lock. It has my name on the side.

W: I’m sorry, sir. All we have is a brown one, but if you give me your details, we’ll contact you if we find it.

M: Thanks. The suitcase is important to me. My name is Stephen, 36 Park Street.

W: And what’s your phone number?

M: Three four six nine double eight zero two.

W: OK, I’ve got it.

M: Welcome to Health Radio. I am Luis. Today’s question is whether you visit the dentist often. Unfortunately, I’ve been a regular visitor to the dentist since I could remember. I’ve had bad teeth since I was young, and I strongly believe this is passed from my parents. You know, my father has bad teeth since his early age; the quality of mine is also questionable. Since I was a kid, I have had to visit the dentist more than I have ever wished. I remember panicking at the thought of going to the dentist. And to try to skip the visit, I used to suffer pain in silence until I couldn’t bear it anymore. Moreover, I even remember holding the street lamp post tightly and my mother struggling to pull me off from there. It was a total frightening experience. Nowadays, dentists are not the same as they used to be. They use much better tools and medicines than before. So do not worry, you’re not going to suffer anyway. Go to the dentist and protect your teeth.
