M: Wow!You can get four shirts for that price in other shops.

W: Hello. Kaiser Medical Center.
M: Hello. I think I have the flu, and I’d like to see a doctor. Can I go at ten o’clock tomorrow morning?
W: Sure. And remember to take your ID card and insurance card with you.

M: I give up! I simply can’t learn French! It’s even more difficult than Chinese for me.
W: Why do you say that? I think you’re making a lot of progress.
M: No, I’m not. I try and try, but I still can’t speak it very well.
W: Learning any language takes patience and effort. I’ve also met many difficulties when learning German. You’re always smart. I believe you’ll do well soon.
M: Thanks for your encouragement. Maybe I could attend a training course.
W: Good idea. That might help.
听下面一段对话,回答第8至第10三个小题。现在你有15秒钟的时间阅读这三个小题。
M: Good afternoon. How may I help you?
W: I’m looking for a birthday gift for my father. How much is that black wallet?
M: Oh, it’s $80.
W: That’s too expensive for me. Do you have a cheaper one?
M: How about this brown leather one? It’s $45.
W: Huh. . . I don’t have that much money. I’ve been helping my mom do some cooking and cleaning after school for the past weeks to earn some money.
M: How much money do you have?
W: 30 dollars or so. This is all I have.
M: Haha. You must be a good assistant at home. Then how about this grey tie?
W: That’s really pretty, but the price tag says $35, and I know I don’t have that much money.
M: I’ll give you a discount. How about $25? What do you say?
W: Oh, thanks. I’ll take it.
听下面一段对话,回答第11至第13三个小题。现在你有15秒钟的时间阅读这三个小题。
W: Great to see you, John. How is everything going?
M: Quite well. I’m going to Italy for vacation in July.
W: Great! But can you speak any Italian?
M: Not really. But I’m starting learning. An Italian boy in my class is teaching me.
W: That’s good. You can also watch some Italian movies.
M: Yeah, that makes sense.
W: How long are you staying in Italy?
M: For two weeks. I’m flying there with my parents on the fourteenth of July and we’re going sightseeing in Rome first.
W: I’m sure you will have a good time there.
M: Anyway, I’ve got to go. I’m going to the barber shop before it closes. See you.
听下面一段对话,回答第14至第16三个小题。现在你有15秒钟的时间阅读这三个小题。
M: Today I’m talking to Marta Stanton, who runs her "mobile restaurant". Marta, how did you get into the restaurant business?
W: I always wanted to open my own restaurant but had no money. So I got a job as a chef. I had sorts of ideas for new dishes and my colleagues thought they were fantastic, but the boss wasn’t interested. Then I left there and started my own restaurant.
M: Obviously, you’ve made the right choice. How does the restaurant work?
W: Well, I decide on a menu — then advertise it, so people can book a meal. All the advertising is done through websites.
M: That’s so convenient.
W: I could also buy things without risk because customers pay in advance. The greatest advantage is that by having ten customers at most, I don’t need to hire a waiter.
M: It sounds great. The whole experience is fun. Do you ever run into problems?
W: Yes. I did one meal on a beach. It almost went wrong because I didn’t think about the wind blowing sand onto people’s food. Fortunately, I’d brought a large umbrella to protect myself from the sun, so I put it around their table instead!
听下面一段独白,回答第17至第20四个小题。现在你有20秒钟的时间阅读这四个小题。
The Country Park is open seven days a week, from 8 am to 7 pm. The Visitors’ Center is open from Tuesday to Sunday, between 9 am and 5:30 pm. The cafe, which is next to the Visitors’ Center, is open from Wednesday to Sunday. The park is ten miles north of the town. There’s a regular bus service to the park from the center of the town, No. 109. For visitors coming by car, parking in the park is free. There’s a speed limit of 20 miles per hour inside the park and all drivers are asked to keep to this. Many hard-surface paths have been built and they are suitable for pushchairs, wheelchairs, bikes and for walking in all weather. A public telephone is available in case of an accident or emergency at the park entrance. There’s also the bike hire service in the park. Visitors are reminded that swimming and skating are not allowed. Events can be arranged for groups and schools, and bookings should be made with the Visitors’ Center staff. The educational staff are experienced with all ages.
