W: Bill, there are so many new words in this magazine in French. Can you tell me their meanings?

W: James wanted to borrow my notes from Tuesday's biology class. He's worried about Friday's exam. I told him no.

M: Come on! It's a pleasure to help others who missed a class.

W: But James missed the class to buy a ticket for Thursday's concert.

M: Linda, it shouldn't matter whatever the reason for his absence was. He needs help.

W: Normally I wouldn't mind. But this time he even told others he got his secretary Linda to take notes.

M: Maybe he was just kidding.

W: I don't think so.

M: Vanessa, your clothes on the blog get so many likes!

W: It was just made of my mum's old curtains!

M: Why did you set up the blog for your clothes?

W: Well, most people don't have much money to buy the latest clothes, although some of them try to copy dresses on film stars. The blog is the place to find more about the fashion, so that gave me the idea.

M: How did your parents take the news?

W: I was worried they'd be against it. But they want me to do what I enjoy.

M: Then you got invited to the big show. Did you enjoy that?

W: It was wonderful. I even talked with the designer. But, I didn't bring a camera to take great photos with the models.

M: We really enjoy talking with you. Any other questions?

W: Yes. In the job description, it says you offer flexible hours. Can you tell me more about that?

M: Sure. Working conditions are very relaxing. Because our bookshops open 24/7, staff can choose whatever hours they want as long as they get their job done properly.

W: That sounds great! I like the flexible working time. Oh, by the way, I really care about whether there are chances of being promoted in the company.

M: Of course. We have performance reviews on all staff every quarter and recommend those performing best for a raise.

W: Perfect. I think I'm done with questions.

M: Well, if you have no further questions, then we are done. Thank you for your interest in this job. You will be hearing from us in a couple of days. Please send the next applicant in on your way out.

W: OK. Thank you very much for offering me this opportunity. I will look forward to the good news.

W: I'm drafting some advice on greening the office. First, I think we should write to people on recycled paper.

M: Hmm. I don't think people especially our customers would like that at all.

W: OK. How about using china cups instead of plastic ones? It can save some money.

M: But where are we going to wash them? We haven't got a kitchen.

W: Well. True. Try this one. We'd better encourage the staff to cycle to work.

M: Please, there's nowhere for them to shower or change clothes. You can't have people running around the office in jogging suits all day.

W: Now the last one. I suggest banning smoking at work. According to a report, women who don't smoke can also get lung cancer due to their exposure to second-hand smoke.

M: I agree with you on that. It would actually be quite good for our health care business.

M: Good morning, this is Dr. Mott. I've been asked to tell you about running. Most of what I'm going to say, I guess, isn't new. I'm a runner myself. Getting into it in middle school, I have been running for 27 years. Every morning I get up and go out before breakfast. I think running is better than any other sport. Running doesn't require a lot of equipment. If you've got shoes, shorts and a T-shirt, you can go anytime and anywhere. I mean there's no need to study like crazy Monday through Friday and run one hour on Saturday and another on Sunday. Do a little each day, and a ten-minute walk is plenty to start running. Also, instead of working out in gyms, you can run the minute you step out of your classroom. If you stick to routine running, your change could be really a surprise to your teacher! Thank you for your listening!
