W: Can you turn the music off? I cannot concentrate on my study.
M: Sorry, Ava. I thought you had finished your final exam already.
W: Not until this Thursday.
W: Oliver, where is your hometown?
M: Well, that is a difficult question, because I have traveled around so much. Still, Auckland. I suppose I have lived there for more than 20 years. I was not born there, though.
W: Could you please hurry, sir?
M: I will try my best. But, you know, safety first.
W: If I don't get there on time, they will worry that I won't turn up. It is our first play. We need to get there to run through the show before we perform on stage to give us all some confidence.
M: Jenny, I won the science competition and got a wonderful edition of Discovering Birds. It has got excellent color photography showing the natural habitat of the birds. Look.
W: Congratulations, Jack. Wow, it is small enough to carry around in our pockets. I hope I can identify these birds.
M: Hi, Rosa, I know you are from Dover. I heard there are animal cafes in your city. Is that true?
W: Yes. Actually, there is one near my apartment. I often go there. It is great fun working on the computer surrounded by lovely animals.

W: Paul, are you looking forward to our school trip?
M: Yeah, it will be great. My mum said the weather would be fine.
W: Well, you're flying on Saturday, aren't you?
M: That is right.
W: I was very scared the first time I traveled with my parents by plane.
M: Oh, I cannot wait. The flight will be enjoyable. But I'm a bit sad that you're not coming with me.
W: Maybe next time, Paul.
W: Antonio, what time does the talent show start?
M: At 3:00 in the afternoon.
W: Well, I hope not. I am in an oil painting class until 3 o'clock.
M: What a pity! It takes 10 minutes to walk from your classroom, and you are the first one to perform. Can you tell your teacher you will leave 10 minutes early, Lucy?
W: Not really. But if you don't mind, I can sing my song at the end of the show instead of the beginning.
M: Yeah, that sounds perfect. We will finish at about 5:00 in the afternoon.
W: OK. Agreed. Put me down as the last in the talent show, right after the piano performance.
M: Sure. No problem.
W: Thanks a lot. I really appreciate it.
M: I've been so forgetful lately. It seems I can't remember anything.
W: Maybe you should walk to school by a different street. That might be good for your brain.
M: Why would taking different streets to school help my memory?
W: Sometimes doing regular activities in a different way can help to improve your memory.
M: Oh, yeah, I have heard that new sights, sounds and smells can help the brain work better.
W: Right. You could even put some herbs next to your bed, so you wake up to different smells each morning.
M: Do you really think doing these things can improve my memory?
W: Not just your memory, but your ability to learn things, too. Give it a try.
W: Alan, we've decided that the basic program would be a sports day with a dance later in the evening. Now, we need to get someone to open the event. You know, to give a talk.
M: Well, there's a guy named Mick at my running club who's just being in an international competition. We can ask him.
W: Great! The next item is the children's running games. We need someone to be in charge of them during the day.
M: I'll do that if you like.
W: It'll be hard work. I've done it before. If I were you, I would find some helpers.
M: Thanks for your advice, Susan. But I want to have a try. We have a problem with the hall for the evening dance. Mr. Taylor says it's not available that evening. It is being repainted.
W: OK. I'll find another place not far from here. Did you get the invitations printed?
M: Of course. The printer says if we let him have the exact details, he'll give us a surprise.
W: Well done. On Friday, we can decide on the food for the sports day.
Hello, I am busy working on a book about my travels. I've had the pleasure to see a lot more of the world than anyone of my age could reasonably hope to. A few years ago on a vacation trip, for the first time, I made a video of myself dancing wildly in foreign places. I put it on the Internet. Some friends started passing it around and soon millions of people watched it. I was offered money to continue my travels. And since then, I've made two more videos that include seventy countries all over the world.
A lot of people wanted to dance along with me. So I started inviting them to join in everywhere I went. Here's what I can report back. People want to feel connected with each other. They want to be heard and seen, and they're curious to hear and see others from places far away. I share that idea. It's exactly what drives me to travel. When I dance with people, I see them smile and laugh. It makes me truly excited.
