During the winter holiday, I wanted to try something that I had never done before. My parents suggested I should go skiing. It made me excited. When I got to the place, I saw people doing different kinds of winter activities on snow. I was surprised by the beautiful sight and happy people. I couldn't wait to ski! I felt I had the ability to master the sport without any difficulty.

Finally, it was my turn. I found that it was very hard for me to walk or move. This filled me with a sense of nervousness. As I made my way to the top of the hill, I saw a few people falling down.

Then, a coach provided me with instructions. Although it sounded simple, when trying to finish the moves, I realized the sport was really dangerous and full of challenges. And my heart raced with excitement. Unluckily, I felt really upset because I kept falling down. Getting up was even more challenging. Failures could be discouraging, but the encouragement and support from my family and the coach were warm. They were like sunshine, melting away my fears.

I continued to practice. After failing many times, I finally mastered the skills of skiing. When I successfully skied down the hill, I felt a sense of achievement and pride.

Sandstorms are most likely to hit China in March and April each year. They cover many places in thick clouds of yellow dust, including many cities in the north of China. The dust may even move to some eastern cities. Where do strong sandstorms come and why?

They always come from some deserts, where the wind is very strong. The temperature rises quickly in spring and there is also little rainfall. So the land is dry and it is difficult for plants to hold sand and dust.

To solve the problem, China has been working for many years to fight against sandstorms actively. In the 1970s, China started the Three-North Shelter Forest Program to plant trees to stop sandstorms. More than 30 million hectares of trees have been planted so far.

China is also working together with other countries. Sand from other countries, such as Mongolia, has also become a source of sandstorms in China. Thus, we need the international support from other countries to control the sources of sand outside China. Every country and even every person needs to do something for the prevention of sandstorms.
