Have you ever lived at school? Some students think living at school is cool. Well, in fact, it may not be as easy as you think.

Last year, my parents decided to let me live at school. I was surprised to hear this decision and expected to have a perfect school life. However, when I first arrived, I got worried about the strict rules. We must get up at 6 in the morning, and run for 20 minutes. We have to study from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m. after dinner every day, and we are not allowed to play with phones during this time. These things made me feel upset. I just wanted to go back home.

One weekend, I went back home and talked with my mom. Mom said,“Life is a long trip. You will certainly meet trouble. Try to see it in a different way. In Beijing, there will be more self-driving taxis on the road soon, so you can get into a taxi with no driver! It is a big step in the development of self-driving technology. 

On July 7th, 2023, it was announced that self-driving taxis were allowed to run on the road in Beijing. Actually, self-driving taxis have done months of road tests. Some companies have been allowed to run self-driving taxis in a special area in Beijing. A total of 116 self-driving taxis were tested. More than 1.5 million people have used the service, and over 95% of the people love it! A passenger in Beijing tried a self-driving taxi bravely in May. She felt good and said the ride was really smooth.

An expert said that they would make a plan to watch over the self-driving taxis and make sure they are safe for passengers. Self-driving taxis might sound like something from a science fiction movie, but it's becoming real.
