W: The staff here is fantastic. I can always count on them for accurate information and assistance to buy the most suitable things. But they might need to do more to keep the floor clean and dry. And the market would be more reliable if it offered  good after-sales service.

Sima Qian, who is considered to be one of China's greatest historians, had a huge impact on the world with his text Shiji. Containing about 526 thousand words, the book is nearly as long as Homer's Epics, which consists of about 576 thousand words. And it's much longer than Paradise Lost, which contains about 120 thousand words.  The Shiji is different from previous Chinese historical works because it records the history of not just one time or period, but China as a whole. Sima Qian made use of many source materials during his writing. He also created an unusual form for his text, recording events related to lots of historical figures that cover a wide range of classes, including not only emperors and officials, but also businessmen and civilians. The Shiji has also been widely translated by scholars in countries like America and France as they try to understand ancient China. It is  valued by them for being one of the earliest records of Chinese civilization, an important part of human history. Due to its great influence, the Shiji  has been serving as a model for history writing in countries like Vietnam and Japan. Sima Qian's high level of scholarship earned him the title of the “Father of Chinese History”.
