M: Well, there is a lot to do. First, we need a group of volunteers to get into the community and help people learn more about how to sort their plastic waste properly. There will be another group who will collect plastics and send them to the recycling station.

M: Yes, but you need to submit your application for the position by Thursday.

W: Why are you so interested in Australia?

M: Well, when I was a little boy, my father often took me to the forests and mountains. Since then, I have been really interested in nature. Australia is a country known for its natural landscape and wild animals. I posted some pictures that I took on my blog. Lots of people liked my photos and told me they wished to visit Australia.

W: What is the most challenging thing you have met with there?

M: There were many kinds of difficulties, such as losing money or missing the bus, so I always kept an eye on my belongings as well as the traffic conditions.But nothing was more dangerous than getting lost, especially when you were in the woods, so an experienced guide is quite necessary.

W: Last year, I went to China as an exchange student. Mrs. Zhang, one of my father’s Chinese business partners, became my caretaker, but she was very busy, so basically I had to take care of myself while I was not at school. On the second day after my arrival, I went to a supermarket searching for basic foodstuffs. Only then did I realize my 12-week stay in China was going to be tough — everything was in Chinese. I managed to find bread, salad and ham; however, I just couldn’t locate the thing I was dying for — tomato sauce. What’s worse, hardly anybody could understand what I was trying to ask. I was almost on the edge of crying. Then, a woman approached me and asked me if everything was okay by using hand gestures. I asked her where I could find tomato sauce, but she didn’t know English. Then, she dialed a number on her cellphone and passed it to me — it was her son. He talked to me in English and asked me what I needed. He then translated that for his mother and she took me to the section.
