W: Hey, Mark. I saw you were reading the same book that I had read one month before.
M: Really? It's interesting, Linda.
W: Yeah, have you read a lot?
M: Yes. In fact,I rarely spend too much time on my mobile phone.
W: Ah, I almost can't believe that. You're so special when many people are addicted to electric devices. No wonder I don't see you often on social media.
M: I set the phone aside except when I need to contact others and watch daily news. I enjoy reading because electric devices can't give me the vivid imagination.
W: I couldn't agree more. I can't focus with them, but books improve my concentration. By the way, what kind of book do you often read?
M: Well, let me see. I've mainly read three types of books.I read science fiction and short novels on weekends or in the holidays and literary magazines are for daily reading.
W: Cool. Where do you love to read?
M: I often read in the library, which is quiet. The riverside is also a nice spot. But the best place for me is the train. I'm always reading on the train. And I often meet other people loving reading books there. When I read, they will also be interested in my book.
W: That's fun. I'll try reading there next time.
Text 10
W: I was born in a southeastern city in 1999 and joined the army when I was 18. I finished my first flying in 2019, which was an exciting experience I'll remember for life. In July 2021, I graduated from school. Though I was eager to be a pilot, I knew seeking quick results is not wise. Rather, I made full preparations. Firstly, I paid attention to gaining more professional knowledge to improve my efficiency. Besides, I knew to become a pilot requires excellent physical condition. That involves many daily sessions of high-intensity physical training, which I've kept doing in the last few years. Lastly, great mental strength is also necessary and crucial. I really made an effort to have such strength. Together they helped me succeed. Actually, I was once doubted and questioned in the path. Despite that, my dream comes true. I hope my experience can be an encouragement to young people. If you want to be a pilot, fight for that. It is all about strength instead of gender. Just follow the thing you want to do, no matter what it is.
