Text 3
W: I won't have anything to wear on Monday unless I pick up my clothes at the dry cleaner's.

M: Do you know the dancer in the picture?
W: Yes. She is Bethany.

M: Sorry, I'm late again.
W: Do you still have a passion for boxing? That's the third time this month.
M: I know, but I have a lot of schoolwork on.
W: Why do you come here, Michael?
M: Because I want to be an extraordinary boxer, like the Olympic champions.
W: Do you think they achieved success by chance? They turned up and trained hard. Success is not about winning a medal. It's about all the work you put in ahead of time.
M: I'm sorry. I will try hardest to be on time in the future.
W: If you're late again, I'll have to drop you from the team as you are wasting my time.

W: Ladies and gentlemen, good evening, you are listening to At the Movies! I'm Nicole Reeves.
M: And I'm Anthony Hale. Good evening!
W: Tonight we're going to look at the new 007 film. Well, I really liked this new actor! He's the most suitable one that's ever had the role.
M: I agree, a perfect action movie star.
W: Yeah, and his acting was so unbelievably natural.
M: What did you think of the story?
W: It was the standard movie with the usual bad character — nothing new.
M: Well, I have to say that I thought the story was unusually good. What did you think about the music?
W: Well, it really added to the action scenes. But unfortunately the special effects were a weakness in the film for me: Again, it's just the same old stuff.
M: Hmm. Well, that's all from us tonight. See you tomorrow and we'll talk about a best-selling novel.

W: I have been on hold for half an hour trying to find out where my delivery is!
M: I apologize, Mrs. Smith. This is not the level of service we usually offer.
W: Then what is the problem? It's a present for my little Tommy. It's his birthday tomorrow.I picked some dog food for him. Why haven't I received his present yet?
M: We had to use a delivery service instead of our own drivers.
W: Why?
M: I shouldn't really say.
W: I demand an explanation, or I want to speak to your boss.
M: Our drivers all eat from the same restaurant at lunch. They all have got food poisoning.
W: Well, I'm sorry to hear that. I hope they are OK.
M: Me, too. Because you are such a regular customer, I would like to return your money in full for the item.
W: I guess that would be acceptable. Hold on; there's someone at my door.
M: Hello, Mrs. Smith?
W: That was your driver. It arrived! Thank you so much.
M: I'm glad it all worked out fine. We would still like to offer you money back, for the length of the call.
W: Thank you. That would be lovely.
