一、短对话理解

1. W: Do you know the young man in the picture?

M: Yes. He was a guide before. That's my dream job.

2. W: Bob, what did you do this morning?

M: I read a book about the story of Yu Gong in the library. It's really an interesting story.

3. W: What is the news about?

M: About a hero called John. He saved a girl who fell into a river.

4. M: Hello, this is Eric Brown. May I speak to Mr Smith?

W: Sorry, Mr Brown. My father isn't at home. He's working in his office. And you can call him at 543-7896.

5. M: Mary, who is the hero in your heart?

W: My aunt. She is a great cook.

听下面一段对话，回答第6、7题。

W: Mike, what did you do yesterday?

M: I went to the City Museum. There is a show about heroes there.

W: What kind of heroes?

M: The heroes who put out a big fire in our city. The firemen are really great!

W: How long will the show last?

M: Until next Tuesday.

W: OK. I will visit it tomorrow. Thank you.

M: You're welcome.

W: How did you spend March 5th as a volunteer, Michael?

M: We went to Xinhua Community and did some meaningful activities.

M: We arrived there on foot.

M: We helped the old clean the windows and sweep the floor. Some read newspapers and some performed magic tricks. The old were grateful for our kindness.

W: How did you like the activities?

M: Though we were tired, we felt happy.

三、短文理解

你将听到一篇短文，短文后有五个小题。请根据短文内容，在每小题所给的A、B、C三个选项中选出一个最佳选项。短文读两遍。

W: Many people must have heard of Marie Curie. She was a famous scientist. She was born in 1867 in Poland. Her family was quite poor so she had to attend public school, but she was an excellent student. She became a home teacher when she left school to help pay for her sister's education. A few years later, she left for Paris and went to university.

In 1895, she married Pierre Curie. They worked hard together. They won the Nobel Prize in Physics in 1903. Eight years later, Marie Curie won the Nobel Prize in Chemistry on her own. She died in 1934. She was very famous because she was the first person to win two Nobel Prizes.

M: I'm Jack. I know many heroes. And I think that not all heroes are people. Take my favourite hero, Duncan, a guide dog for example.

Duncan helps my teacher, Mrs Miller, get ready for work, because Mrs Miller can't see things clearly.

Duncan and Mrs Miller come to class together. We all love Duncan, but we can't play with him. He always pays attention to helping and protecting my teacher. He's always working.

Another hero of mine is Mrs Miller. She has poor eyesight but she is a good teacher. She is always patient when she explains something to us.
