第一节

W: I ran into Mandy just now. She needs to borrow this cake mixer.

M: And what do you want me to do?

W: It would be great if you could drop it off on your way to work.

M: This is Joe. May I help you?

W: Hello, something is wrong with the refrigerator I bought yesterday.

M: Did you read the instructions?

W: Of course. I plugged it in, but it just didn't work. Could you please send someone to take a look?

W: Hi, Jim. Is the hotel ready for this afternoon's award dinner?

M: Actually, the room's been set up, but we're a few tables short.

W: Oh, I've already taken care of that. The furniture will be delivered in an hour.

M: Great!

W: What do you think of the test?

M: It had challenges, but generally everything was covered in the textbook.

W: You sound confident. I spent all of last week reviewing the book and felt like I wasted my time.

M: I'm sad to say that our club has run out of funds for this year.

W: We can organize more fundraising projects. Why don't we arrange a concert? We'll need many volunteers, though.

M: Good idea. You can count me in to help out.

第二节

听下面一段对话,回答第6至第7两个小题。

W: This is Marcy Ardmore from Selden Motors. Some automotive parts we ordered from your factory haven't arrived yet.

M: I'm sorry to hear that. We sent your order over a week ago, but the shipping company has been experiencing delays due to the bad weather, and the tracking emails they've sent us don't contain enough detail to determine when the parts will arrive.

W: I see. Do you have contact information for the shipping company? I'd like to see what I can find out.

M: Yes, I can give you their phone number. But I'll also call them. Hopefully the more concerns they get, the more seriously they'll take the issue.

W: Are you OK? You look a bit down.

M: Well, I am tired. I had a terrible night's sleep because I kept waking up. It's been like that for a few months. I can't really focus in class sometimes as I'm so tired.

W:Sorry to hear that. Have you tried using one of the health and fitness trackers to track your sleep?

M: How would a sleep tracker help?

W: It monitors the quality of your sleep. Some trackers even measure air temperature, the amount of light and noise, and monitor how you breathe. And you'll get to know your sleep habits, so you can see what helps you sleep.

听下面一段对话,回答第10至第12个小题。

M: What is the rental cost for the house?

W: The monthly rent is $980, and it includes maintenance fees for the garden.

M: It's not that cheap but sounds not bad. And you said the current renters are due to leave on the evening of the 20th, right?

W: Yes, but the cleaners will need 2 days to make sure that the house is clean and tidy. Then the house will be available.

M: What date would it be possible to visit it?

W: The day after the renters leave the house.

M: OK. Would 1 o'clock be all right?

W: I'm afraid that I have a meeting at 12:30. I have available appointments at 10:15 and 3:00.

M: In that case, can we schedule the appointment for 10:15?

W: No problem, I'll book it into my schedule.

听下面一段对话,回答第13至第16个小题。

W: Hello Luke, tell me about your research. What inspired you?

M: I once noticed people queuing outside a shoe store to buy a new style of trainers. Then I came across an article in a magazine about the incredible number of shoes that are produced. That piece made me want to find out more.

W: So then you went to the event called Trainer Exchange?

M: Yeah. It's for people to buy and sell trainers. At this event, everyone had to hand over ten pounds just to get in!

W: And you interviewed someone, didn't you?

M: That's right I started with a couple called Meg and Tyler. They had a stand, piled high with hundreds of pairs of trainers, all styles and colors. But what drew me to them was the fact that they were a couple in their thirties, and almost everyone else was teenagers.

W: And I know so many shoes are thrown away. Why is that?

M: There are lots of reasons. Shoes can look worn or a new style comes out. But above all, it's that there are so many cheap styles that start to fall apart in no time.

听下面一段独白,回答第17至第20个小题。

M: Good morning. Well, as you know, the community gardens at Hadley Park aren't in the best shape, and although the local government has a budget to deal with some of the problems, we do need volunteers for other tasks. Um, first of all, don't worry about any litter you see lying about one of the local schools has offered to help out with that as part of their own environmental project. The priority for you will be to give us a hand with the new wooden fencing it needs constructing along parts of the bicycle track. You've probably also noticed that some pathways are quite narrow, but the government will widen them later in the year. The other thing we're doing is getting rid of some of the foreign species that are growing in the gardens and putting back some native plants and trees. So, you'll be doing some digging for us and getting those into the ground. So, wear strong, waterproof boots; it's quite muddy at the moment, and your own gloves would also be advisable. Tools will be available and we'll also provide food and drink.
