这是高考优秀模拟试卷汇编第8套英语科的听力部分,该部分分为第一、第二两节。  听力考试正式开始。

第一节

M: I love that dress. You look awesome in it.

W: Thank you. When the shop assistant was holding it, I wasn't going to buy it. Then my sister told me that I must get it.

M: She was right. It's the nicest one you have.

W: It's noon. My parcel was due half an hour ago.

M: You can't rely on the times they give. They are just estimates.

W: But I can't wait here forever. I need to collect my son from school later.

W: Hey, where have you been hiding since the party?

M: Sorry Kate, I can't stop. If I keep running, I might just get to the station in time.

W: That's OK. Get your train. I'll see you at the next meeting.

M: I might try a different type of coffee this time. I'll have this one, please.

W: There's an offer on the one you normally have. Buy two and get another one for free.

M: Oh, great. Thanks for the tip.

W: What kind of person do you consider yourself to be, Tom?

M: I think I'm polite, careful and shy.

W: I don't think you are shy. You are always chatting with new people when we go to parties.

第二节

听下面一段对话,回答第6至第7两个小题。

M: Thank you for such a lovely party.

W: Thank you for coming.

M: Oh, and congratulations of course.

W: Thanks. It feels like my birthday and wedding both rolled into one. All my best friends are here today.

M: You have done so well. Your company must think very highly of you.

W: It's very exciting — but scary as well. I hope I will be a good manager.

M: You will. I hope we haven't made too much of a mess here.

W: Oh, it's fine. The house is easy to clean. I had thought of hiring a restaurant for the party.

M: This is better.

听下面一段对话,回答第8至第9两个小题。

M: Excuse me. We're doing research about people's first jobs. Can you say something about yours?

W: Well, yes. It was with a large international company. They had a training program for new graduates and, well, that was my first job, the secretary to the training manager.

M: What kind of training program did they provide?

W: Programs that helped the college graduates grow quickly in their careers.

M: Did you enjoy your first job?

W: Yes, I did. To be honest, I didn't really know what I wanted to do when I left university. So it was good to see what different departments did. And I also learnt a lot during work. It was really practical. And I loved the working environment.

M: It sounds interesting.

W: Yes, it was. But it was very badly paid.

听下面一段对话,回答第11至第12三个小题。

M: How did it go? What did the doctor say about your foot?

W: She gave me a long examination but couldn't find anything broken.

M: That's a relief. So, what do you have to do?

W: Just rest it. She said the more I walk on it, the longer it will take to heal.

M: You'll get very bored sitting around all day. It's not natural for someone like you, who loves exercise.

W: Well, my foot won't heal if I use it all the time. I need to sit down. The doctor suggested a chair.

M: OK, I'll get one for you.

W: Could you get me a glass of water as well? She gave me some pills to kill the pain.

M: Certainly. Those are the same tablets I had when I hurt my arm last year. They sent me to sleep.

W: Maybe if I sleep, I won't get so bored just sitting here.

听下面一段对话,回答第13至第16四个小题。

W: Whoa! Did I scratch the car there?

M: Probably. Why on earth did you drive to the side of the road? You brushed the car against the trees.

W: Didn't you see it?

M: See what?

W: Something ran in front of the car — an animal.

M: What was it, a dog or a rabbit? It must have been small because I didn't see it.

W: You were looking at your phone. It was quite big, whatever it was.

M: I have seen deer in this area. It might have been one of them.

W: Maybe...ah no, look over there. That's what it was.

M: Isn't that Bruce?

W: Yes, it is. I wonder what he is doing on the road. That is so dangerous. He must have escaped from Marie and Tom's garden. We should take him back. They don't live far from our house.

M: I'll give them a call and say we've found their dog. They're probably worrying about him.

W: Then we'll have to catch him first.

M: He'll come to us. He knows we're friends.

听下面一段独白,回答第17至第20个小题。

This is Charles Speed from Intercity News. And I'm glad to report to you an unusual story that has a happy ending. I'm at the scene of an amazing rescue that happened earlier today involving a serious fire, a two-month-old baby, and a family dog. The fire broke out in the four-floor apartment block you can see to my left. Firemen are still examining what is left of the building in case of any accidents, so I can't get any nearer at the moment. However, people who were here at the time of the fire said that they noticed strong smoke rising from the block in the early hours of the morning. It was thought at first that everyone inside had got out. However, the young woman who lives in Apartment 18, Susan Docking, was outside the block and realized that her two-month-old child, Kevin, was still inside. It was then, people said, that the family dog Benji was seen pulling the child to safety by his clothing. The baby was taken to hospital soon after the mother and child had been reunited. In the early afternoon, a hospital spokesman said that Kevin was in good health. The dog also suffered no harm and is now being treated as a hero. This has been Charles Speed from Intercity News, and now I'm handing you back to the studio for the weather forecast.
