这是高考优秀模拟试卷汇编第23套英语科的听力部分,该部分分为第一、第二两节。  听力考试正式开始。

第一节

W: Do I have enough time to freshen up a bit before we leave?

M: You've got fifteen minutes to get ready, honey, but please don't take too long. We need to be on the road by 10:35.

M: Why didn't you wake me up earlier Mom? I'm running late.

W: Oh, why the rush? It's Saturday today, isn't it?

M: Actually, there's a special lecture by a professor scheduled at our school today.

W: We can't eat out tonight. You know, we're really hard up now.

M: Ah, it is really a problem, but not for me, your husband.

W: Aha, what tricks are you going to play?

M: Mr. Smith from my company gave me a cookbook and I'm going to give it a try.

M: A strong hurricane is coming. We can't board the Florida flight.

W: So we might be absent from the meeting tomorrow in Tokyo.

M: I'm afraid so. But perhaps we can first go to Boston, from where we can fly to Japan.

M: Professor Smith certainly has a good reputation in the Department of English.

W: A well-deserved one. The same students who fall asleep in discussions and seminars fight for front row seats in his lectures.

第二节

听下面一段对话,回答第6至第7两个小题。

M: Morning Betty, fancy meeting you here.

W: Morning Tom, my car broke down. Waiting for a bus and potentially getting stuck in traffic jams are such a trouble, so I ended up taking the subway.

M: Did you catch the basketball game last night?

W: Oh, it was a disaster. Our team has never suffered such a crushing defeat before.

M: You're right. Our team is usually tough, but last night they blew it completely.

W: I don't think so. They went all out. In my opinion, it was mainly because John wasn't there. He's the soul of the team. Without him, the team is simply disorganized.

W: I checked with everyone we thought of who could go to the desert with us during the holiday. A few of them are quite keen, actually.

M: Tell me, how did they respond?

W: Peter's heading back to Paris for a family visit. Jennifer's out too. She's already got a ticket to London to meet her husband. I chatted with David as well. He's eager to get away for camps.

M: How about his brother, Walter?

W: His brother's studying abroad now. Actually, he's transferred to a university in New York. I rang Maria's place and her sister Allie answered. I filled her in on our plans and she checked with Maria. They both want to come along.

M: Good. They'll be fun to be with. Michael, though?

W: You won't believe it. He said he doesn't feel like going anywhere. That's a real turn-up for the books.

M: How do you find working at Hyundai Motor Group in Brazil?

W: It's fantastic. The team is amazing. I'm thrilled that they are all pet-friendly. Let me share the story of Tucson with you.

M: Who is this guy? A colleague?

W: Yes, but Tucson is actually a dog. He's a recent addition to our staff.

M: Well, really? Tell me more.

W: Last year, the staff spotted a dog wandering around our car lot. The dog was incredibly friendly. We can't bear to take it to the shelter. He started coming by every day, but it wasn't until a dark and stormy night last week that our boss took him in forever, changing his life.

M: That's awesome.

W: We named the dog Tucson and made him our official sales dog, even giving him his own ID card. Since joining the sales team, Tucson has been a huge hit with customers.

M: What a wonderful story! I'm glad Tucson's finally getting the love and attention he truly deserves.

W: Honey, we've lived in this place for a good decade now and I'm feeling like a change of scenery.

M: Why? The community has a high tech security system and the neighbors here are warm-hearted. Most importantly, it's quite easy to get around.

W: Oh, I don't want to move. I just want to redecorate our place as we can see the paint on some walls is starting to peel off.

M: You mean the walls need repainting. What color do you like, still the original one?

W: No, I'm more into white than pink. But maybe the bedroom should go with a beige color scheme for a warmer feel.

M: I agree. Have you got any idea about the furniture? Are you thinking of replacing anything?

W: Hmm, the sofas and cupboards are due for an upgrade but still manageable. However, my book collection has outgrown the old bookcase. It's just not up to the task anymore.

M: Alright, anything else?

W: How about hanging some artworks on the walls?

M: That sounds fantastic. I heard there's an art exhibition at the city gallery this weekend. We can try our luck there.

W: Good thinking. Let me check out more information about the exhibition online.

M: That's the way to go.

听下面一段独白,回答第18至第20个小题。

W: There are many commonly held beliefs about eyeglasses and eyesight that are not proven facts. For instance, some people believe that wearing glasses too soon weakens the eyes, but there is no evidence to show that the structure of eyes is changed by wearing glasses at a young age. Wearing the wrong glasses, however, can prove harmful. Studies show that for adults, there is no danger. But children can develop loss of vision if they have glasses inappropriate for their eyes.We have all heard of some of the common myths about how eyesight gets bad. Most people believe that reading in dim light causes poor eyesight, but that is untrue. Too little light makes the eyes work harder, so they do get tired and strained. However, it does not permanently damage eyesight. Another myth about eyes is that they can be replaced from one person to another. There are close to 1 million nerve fibers that connect the eyeball to the brain, but so far it is impossible to attach them all in a new person. Only certain parts of the eye can be replaced.
