这是高考优秀模拟试卷汇编第27套英语科的听力部分,该部分分为第一、第二两节。  听力考试正式开始。

第一节

W: That maths lecture was way too hard for me. My notes are a mess.

M: Well, you were on sick leave for three days, and it's normal to feel a bit lost. Let's head to the library after school. I'll help you catch up.

W: Hello, John. I'm calling about your appointment with Doctor Smith on the 13th at 10:45 a.m. Unfortunately, I need to reschedule it. Would a later time work for you?

M: Sure. But I have a lunch date at noon. So the earliest I could get there is 1:30 p.m.

W: OK. Let's move your appointment to 2:00 p.m. instead.

M: Hey, Jenny. I've noticed you seem a bit off lately. Is everything okay?

W: Honestly, I feel undervalued. I do twice the work of my teammates but get the same pay.

M: I understand. We'll discuss it later.

M: I can't get into the website. I keep typing the address, but it's not working.

W: Let me take a look...Oh, it should be quora.com, q-u-o-r-a, not q-u-o-r-e! That's why it's not loading.

W: This hat feels so soft, and it's only 80 dollars! It's such a stylish steal!

M: It is soft, but I'm sure you can find a better one at that price.

第二节

听下面一段对话,回答第6至第7两个小题。

M: Do you have any other concerns about the meeting?

W: I think I'm all set regarding the meeting content. But I do have a couple of things I'd like to bring up.

M: Sure. Fire away!

W: In the last meeting, it was sometimes hard to translate everything correctly. Some of the discussions were very lively, and you spoke very quickly.

M: Ah, yes, I remember. I'll slow down, I promise.

W: And you spoke five or six sentences at one go. It would be helpful if you took regular breaks — to allow me to clear my head.

M: And for me to clear mine!

听下面一段对话,回答第8至第10三个小题。

M: Have you seen the news about the missing man?

W: What news?

M: The whole family was on holiday by the sea, and one day, he just disappeared. The police found his clothes on the beach, but there was no sign of him.

W: Maybe he went for a swim and was attacked by a shark or something.

M: That's what they thought. But then, a week later, he turned up at Heathrow Airport. He had a passport under a different name and was on his way to Australia.

W: How did they know it was him?

M: When he checked in, one of the staff saw his real name on a label on his suitcase. He'd forgotten to change it! The staff called the police, and he was arrested.

W: Oh, I'll have to find a newspaper to read more about it.

听下面一段对话,回答第11至第13三个小题。

M: Oh no, I'm in trouble! I just remembered that the science fiction book I borrowed, Dune, is due tomorrow, and I'm only halfway through it! The library's closed for the holidays, right? I'll be fined!

W: Relax, Jack. You won't be fined. You can extend the period online.

M: Wait, really? I thought I had to go to the library to do that. How does it work?

W: Just log in to your library account, find the book under your borrowed items, and click “Extend”.

M: That sounds easy enough. But how long can I extend it for?

W: Up to 60 days. Plenty of time to finish Dune!

M: Awesome! Thanks for telling me, Emily. I'll do it as soon as I get home. I really don't want to rush through the rest of the book.

W: No problem! By the way, let me know when you're done. I've been thinking about reading it since I saw the film.

M: Will do!

听下面一段对话,回答第14至第17四个小题。

M: Why are you sitting on the floor, honey?

W: I'm worn out. My new advanced exercise class is so hard.

M: Why did you choose the advanced one?

W: My instructor thought that the beginner's class was too easy for me.

M: Hah! Too easy for you?

W: Don't laugh. In the beginner's class, the coach gives you a chance to rest between exercises.

M: So?

W: In the advanced class, we keep going.

M: I lift weights for sixty minutes every morning without stopping. No problem.

W: Listen, Richard. Doing gymnastics for an hour is more difficult than lifting weights. It's a sport that requires a considerable level of flexibility and physical strength.

M: But I think gymnastics is easy. I could work out in your advanced class with no problem.

W: You think so?

M: Yes. When's the next class?

W: Tomorrow morning at ten o'clock. Try it.

M: After my morning exercise routine, I'll accompany you to the gym. It's a piece of cake.

听下面一段独白,回答第18至第20个小题。

Small talk is a wonderful way of bonding, learning, and growing. What makes it challenging is the fact that we can hardly be prepared for it. We just go with what's happening in the moment.

When you first get into a small talk situation, I think we need to establish appropriate goals. Rachel Greenwald, an academic, has this wonderful saying: “Your goal is to be interested, not interesting.” We often think that we need to be fascinating, when in fact, we just need to be present and be interested in the conversation that's happening.

And then, to get good at small talk, you need to give yourself permission to adjust your pace. Many of us have the sense that the speed of response is associated with competence. But what really reflects your competence is an appropriate response. And appropriateness can take a little bit of time. So here are some things you can do to help you...
