M: You look very happy in this photo. Where were you? It looks like a painting. 

W: We were in the mountains outside the city. We went hiking there last week. We have some videos from there as well.

W: Yes, I bought it in the sales for half the price.It costs me $12.

W: Hi, Mike, did you finish that sales report I asked you to write yesterday after our meeting? 

M: Yes, I did. I left it on your desk this morning before you got in.

W: Great, thanks.

W: I'm writing a story for the high school newspaper. It is an article on people's feelings about graduation.

M: I'm so excited about it. How about you?

W: Me? In fact, I feel a little frightened.

W: Hello, Mr. Santos? This is Brenda Carlisle.

M: Yes, Brenda. Have you thought about our offer? 

W: Yes, I have. And I accept. I'd love to work for Nanotech Industries. 

M: Wonderful. Now, before you begin, there are some paperwork to be taken care of.

M: There will be a meeting after class. Are you coming, Helen? 

W: After class? I'm sorry, Mike.I'm afraid I can't.

M: But it's quite important.It's about our helping Bob.

W: Oh, I have to go home to look after my mother. She's ill today. 

M: Sorry to hear that.Then we'll have to have the meeting without you.I'll tell you about the meeting tomorrow morning.

W: Thanks.

M: Morning, Sue.Did you enjoy your holiday in the country?

W: Yes. We had a great time.And some friends went with us.

M: Where did you stay? In a hotel?

W: No.We camped in the mountains, near Snowdon.We cooked all our meals over an open fire. 

M: Sounds wonderful.Was the weather good?

W: The sun shone nearly every day and it didn't rain at all.

M: Did you like the people there?

W: Yes, they were great.We met some farmers and had tea in their houses.

M: I went to meet Maria's family last weekend, and we want to get married this summer. 

W: That's wonderful, Erik! Congratulations!

M: I really like her family. Mrs. Corona speaks four languages, and Mr. Corona gives a speech every Saturday morning. 

W: Tell me more about that.

M: On Saturday evening, we saw a play. And on Sunday afternoon, we saw a soccer game. Then on Sunday night, we all went out for dinner — Maria, her parents, her sister and me. That was the first time we really had had a chance to talk. Mr. Corona told some good stories about his experiences, and he asked about my hobbies.

W: And what did you say? Did you tell him your favorite one? 

M: No, I didn't tell him about my cooking, but I told him about my chess and my classical music collection. 

W: Good idea! Her family must be really pleased with you.

M: I hope so.

W: Hello, Dad?

M: Yes, Mary! How are you? Is there anything wrong?

W: Oh, no. I just want to call and see how you and Mum are. It's been quite a long time since I saw you.

M: Oh, we're both fine.Your mother is not at home and she is at the new shopping centre now. 

W: For a new dress?

M: No, for shoes this time. How's Tom? 

W: He's fine.He likes his work and was given a rise last month by Mr.David. We were all pretty pleased about that. 

M: Yes, I think you should be.And how is Billy?

W: Well, Billy's home from school today.It's nothing serious, just a bad cold. 

M: That's OK.Call again.

W: All right.Bye.

W: Good morning, everyone. May I have your attention, please? I just want to tell everyone that the place of the office party has been changed. Instead of being at the Irish Pub on 6th Street, it will be at the LaFleur Club. The LaFleur Club is not very far from the office. It is on the corner of 9th Street, just across from the Greenville Gallery and next to the Rodolfo Club. If anyone doesn't know the place, you can ask me for details. It has a very nice atmosphere, and even a karaoke stage. Our company will pay for only food and soft drinks, so you will have to pay for wine yourself. The subway station is really far away from the LaFleur Club. And it is difficult to park your cars there during the dinner time. So as for the transportation, we strongly encourage you to take the bus. See you at the party!I hope all of you will come and enjoy the party.
