Last March, Sammy lost her camera on a school trip. She was afraid that her parents would be angry. So she decided to start saving her pocket money for a new camera. Every day she walked the dog for her uncle and got 5 dollars each week. Soon, some neighbors asked her to look after their cats and rabbits, too. It took Sammy three months to get enough money to buy a camera. It was the same as the one she had lost, but it felt very different, because she paid for it. This experience taught Sammy what it means to work hard. She also learned that she must be careful with her things because they take a lot of hard work.

The world’s first half-marathon race between humans and robots was held in Beijing on April the 19th this year. Around 21 human-like robots raced alongside thousands of human runners. Rules for them are different from those for humans. First, the robots must walk or run similarly to humans. They are not allowed to have wheels. But it doesn’t matter whether they wear clothes and running shoes or not. Human operators are allowed to physically support the machines and to change the batteries during the race.

The winning robot is called Tiangong Ultra. It stands 1.8 meters tall and weighs 52 kilos. It wore black running shoes and a bright orange shirt with its name written on the left shoulder. It crossed the finishing line in a time of about two hours and forty minutes.
