M: Rainy day, isn't it?
W: No, it's like what the radio said. It's cloudy.
M: I wish it would be fine for the weekend.
Text 2
M: This is the best I've ever had. What attracts me is not only its appearance but also its smell.
W: You're too excited. I come here whenever I get tired of cooking. I don't feel that way.
Text 3
M: It is a pity you missed the art show.
W: Really?
M: Yeah, many visitors wouldn't tear themselves away from the paintings. It is indeed a great treat for the eyes. I want to visit it again.

W: Hey, Peter, it's Elaine. I'm preparing for Professor Butler's class tomorrow. And I need the notes for last Tuesday when I was absent. Have you got them?
M: Yeah. I think so. Hold on and let me look.

W: What seems to be the matter, young man?
M: I've had a cold for a few days.
W: Are you eating normally?
M: No. I just had a glass of water from morning till now.
Text 6
W: Tom, when are you leaving for London? The day after tomorrow?
M: No, today is July 10th, so that's in five days.
W: Have you booked your plane ticket?
M: Yes. I did that this morning.
W: Will you go to the airport by bus or by taxi?
M: Jim will go to the airport that morning. He'll give me a lift.
W: That's great.

M: The doctor just told me I have to be careful about things I eat.
W: Like what?
M: Well, for example, he told me to eat fish, no more hamburgers or fried chicken.
W: I hardly eat fish. It's the last thing that I want to try.
M: I can have some fish as long as they are well-cooked. He wants me to eat a lot of vegetables, too, especially green ones. But that's okay. I like them.
W: Oh, vegetables. I often have carrots and tomatoes. They're my favourite.
M: He also told me not to drink any coffee. But how can I completely wake myself up without a cup of coffee in the morning?
W: I know what you mean. I love coffee, too. I also have a sweet tooth. Coffee with cake after a good meal is wonderful.
M: Cake. The doctor said no to it too.
W: I almost always have it in my house. You know, I don't think I'd like your doctor very much.

M: Hi, Lydia, you studied in Milan for three years. How did you like the place?
W: Well, I love it. The food, people and buildings. Everything is great.
M: Next month I'm traveling to Milan to meet some big customers. Do you have any suggestions about what to see when I'm there?
W: There are lots of places I could recommend. How long will you be there?
M: I'll be there for five days, but I'll only have one day when I'm not seeing customers.
W: In that case, I think you should try a group bus tour. It's an excellent way to see all the main attractions in the city in a short amount of time.
M: Good idea. Do you have more information about it, like how much it costs and what time it starts?
W: If you visit their official tourism website, you'll find all the information you need.
M: I will go to visit it then.

W: We're really moving into our new house. We've been saving money for years, and now we're finally paying it off.
M: I'm having a hard time believing it myself. We lived in that little apartment for so long. Children had to share a bedroom and things banked up at every corner.
W: Now everyone has their own room and I don't need to repair the apartment every now and then.
M: That's right. Many things didn't work normally.
W: Well, we won't have those problems here. This is a big and bright house. I'm pleased we finally have a nice backyard. We'll be able to throw parties there.
M: Yeah, I'm pleased too. I think you could plant some flowers there. And I can't wait to have a dog.
W: Anyway, we need to start work now. First, let's unpack all the boxes. Then we'll arrange the furniture.
M: Well, let's start with this mirror. Does the mirror look good here?
W: Yes, it's perfect. Now let's put a small sofa beside the mirror. Should we put the coffee table against the wall?
M: No, honey, let's put it in the middle of the living room.

W: Hi, everyone, I'm May. And yes, we are live again! I must admit that it's so cool that I don't have to spend hours on video editing. But when I'm not pre-recording something, I have to think a lot more about what I want to say! Anyway, let's get to it! As you've probably guessed from what I'm wearing, today we're talking about traditional Chinese clothing. I know most of you come to me for fashion dressing ideas. But those who've seen my photos posted online will know I'm also a big fan of Hanfu. And today, I'm wearing typical daywear for Tang-dynasty women. It's so light, and I can wear it all day without any problems. Plus, you'll notice the skirt ties around my chest, which is great for me as I don't love anything tight around my middle! The Hanfu is not just a piece of clothing. It's a symbol of China's long history. So I'm planning to share how to combine Hanfu with your daily dressing in the next videos. What do you guys think? Let me know in the chat!
