测试二

Text 1

M: Think it over carefully. You must have left it somewhere.

W: But the problem is that I have to have it now. I need it to open the door when I get home.

Text 2

M: He is very famous in Europe, right?

W: Yes, but actually his songs and movies are not so good.

M: That's true. I once saw one of his movies; it's really boring.

Text 3

W: Can I have breakfast in my room?

M: Certainly, madam. Breakfast is served in your room from 7:00 to 10:00. Here is the menu.

W: OK. Let me have a look.

Text 4

W: Hello, Kevin. What brings you here?

M: I just come to ask if the power supply in your home is working. Mine went off an hour ago.

W: Let me see...Oh, yes, so it is. I didn't realize that. The same thing happened one day last week.

Text 5

M: Did you like the activities you did on the school trip?

W: Yes, but I'm not sure I'll do water skiing again as I fell into the water many times. The horse riding was really nice, but I still don't think it was as good as going up the climbing wall.

Text 6

W: Jeff, I'm fed up with these TV programs. What shall we do this afternoon?

M: Let's go to the lake for a boat ride!

W: Go boating in the lake in this weather? Are you kidding?

M: Don't worry about the weather, Pat. It'll be fine today. I've checked the weather report.

W: Weather reports are not always right. Look out of the window, Jeff. Can you see the trees? Can you see how windy it is? Just forget the weather report, Jeff. It's going to rain. There's going to be a storm!

Text 7

W: Excuse me, sir!

M: Yes?

W: Can I ask for your opinion on something?

M: Sure, what can I help you with?

W: Do you think I would look better in the blue or the red dress?

M: I don't think either one looks good on you. I think you should try on the yellow dress.

W: But I hate the color yellow.

M: Then maybe the purple dress would look nice, too. And it's on sale now, so you can get a big discount.

W: I don't like purple, either.

M: Then I don't know how to help you.

W: Okay, thank you all the same. I'll go to shop around somewhere else.

Text 8

M: Are you going to bring your bike with you to your college?

W: No. That bike is almost useless!

M: How can you say that, Lily? Your mother and I bought it brand new.

W: But that was six years ago, in junior high school. Now the bell doesn't work. The chain is broken. Besides, I've gotten taller and the bike is too small for me now.

M: I understand now. Well, I guess we should buy you a new one before you leave.

W: You don't have to. I am thinking of a different plan. The campus isn't so big, and there are a lot of buses in the town. I won't need a bike so often.

M: What will you do for exercise then? You don't like to walk or run.

W: I can still use a bike. I'll just rent one when I need it. Many students rent bikes now. That way, I won't have to store it or fix it, either.

Text 9

W: OK,we've got all our cloud research so let's decide how to organize it.

M: We should probably start by saying how clouds are formed, and then move on to the different types of clouds. We can separate them into low-level, medium-level and high-level clouds.

W: Great, and we should also make a PowerPoint to make the presentation more interesting.

M: Right. We should have small cards, too. I'm useless at remembering what to say without them.

W: Me too. Well, I'm quite happy to organize everything we have found out about clouds and make sure it fits into our presentation time.

M: Actually, I'd better do that. How about if you make the presentation slides?

W: OK.

M: Then I'll also look on the Internet for pictures of different types of clouds.

W: That will be great. I'll prepare the cards so we don't forget what we're saying.

M: Sounds great. What section do you want to talk about?

W: I hate speaking in front of people so I'd prefer not to do the introduction.

M: I'll do that. If you don't want to talk much, then why don't you just do the middle bit about the medium-level clouds?

W: That's OK.

Text 10

W: Now, let me tell you a bit about the library. The library opens daily from 8:00 am to 10:00 pm, as I told you earlier. The reception operates only between 9:00 am and 5:00 pm, but it operates until 6:30 pm on Fridays to give students more time to organize their book requirements for the weekend. Students are permitted to take out four books at a time and each book can be kept for a period of two weeks. Borrowing time can be lengthened by a period of one week per book, but the student needs to come into the library in person with the book to be renewed. We do not renew book borrowings over the phone or by emails. If you are late in returning any book, then you will be charged a fine of two pounds for each overdue week. You won't be able to take out any books until this fine is paid. This is not a method of earning money for the library but only what we have to do to ensure that all students have access to all the books that they will need.
