  M: Different countries have different manners. Here are some examples. If you visit a Chinese family, you should knock at the door first. When the door opens, you should not move before the host says, “Come in, please.” Before coming into a house in Japan, it is good manners to take off your shoes. In European countries, even if your shoes are very dirty, this is not done. In England, guests always finish the drink or the food to show that they enjoy it. This will make the host very pleased.

  W: Invited by their father's Chinese friends, Sarah and her sister planned to go to Beijing by plane. But her father forgot to book the tickets, so they had to take the train. The host family and their neighbours were very friendly. A girl who lived next door helped Sarah and her sister communicate with others. The host prepared many dishes like dumplings, Gongbao chicken and fish. Sarah's favourite was Gongbao chicken while her sister liked the fish best. At the end of the meal, Sarah opened a box of Russian candies and passed the box to everyone. Everyone took a piece of candy and ate it. They smiled and said that the candy tasted very good. Sarah and her sister will stay there for two days. They will visit some places of interest like the Great Wall and then fly to Wuhan to meet their father.
