M: You shouldn't spend so much time watching TV series like that. Some news programs or documentaries are much better worth seeing.
W: Yes, I know. This is the last time, I promise.
Text 2
M: Excuse me, is this where I catch the bus to the zoo?
W: Well, you can take the No.36 from here, but then you have to walk about 15 minutes.
Text 3
W: Good morning, Mr. Miller. I wonder if I could talk with you about my graduation essay sometime today or tomorrow.
M: Yes, of course. Tomorrow morning will be OK.
Text 4
M: The end is so impressive! I felt like I was traveling in outer space.
W: Yeah! The special effects are so realistic! The huge screen and sound system in this theater help a lot.
Text 5
M: Hey, Rina. How did the interview go?
W: Hey. It was pretty good. I've got their job offer. I just have to pay $500 for staff training.
M: The fact that a company asks you to pay for that is a red flag. Maybe you shouldn't work for this company.

M: Good morning. Is there anything I can do for you?
W: I made my keyboard wet when I had some juice today, and now the keys fail. I can't type up my report.
M: I see.
W: So how soon would you be able to fix it?
M: Well, we're not too busy right now. Why don't you just wait and it will be over within 20 minutes.
W: Actually, I am going to do some shopping with my friend. I'll just come back and pick it up half an hour later.
M: That's OK.
Text 7
M: Today we're continuing our travelers' tales. Amanda had quite an unpleasant experience in Australia last month. Isn't that right, Amanda?
W: Yes. I was on holiday at a friend's house on the coast. One afternoon, I slid my left foot into my shoe and felt a tiny pain. I shook the shoe off my foot and saw a spider running out as the shoe hit the wall.
M: Wow, so what happened next?
W: Anyway, I completely lost control. I don't think I've ever screamed so much in all my life.
M: Oh. I can imagine that. Did you go to hospital?
W: Yeah, I didn't feel sick or develop a fever but I had a severe headache minutes later. I had the injury treated in a nearby hospital.
Text 8
M: How's your life in Britain, Sally?
W: Well, I always have my hands full. Almost every day I have to get up early in the morning to attend my lessons, and conduct experiments in the lab in the afternoon.
M: Do you have any homework in the evening?
W: Well, I finish all my schoolwork in the day because I have a part-time job in a restaurant after school.
M: How long do you work every day?
W: I work from seven to half past ten every night, five days a week. But I don't feel tired. I think it's meaningful, and I can earn 80 pounds every week.
M: I'm glad that you enjoy your life there. But remember not to work too hard. That won't be good for your health.
Text 9
W: Excuse me, are you here for the Open Day?
M: Yeah, it's a lovely college.
W: It is. There's an Olympic-sized swimming pool; the library looks better than the one in town. There's also a big supermarket just meters from the main entrance. Is this your first Open Day?
M: No, I've been to Sussex, Coventry and Birmingham.
W: I haven't been to any other Open Days yet but I'm hoping I end up here.
M: I wish I could make up my mind. By the way, have you decided the major?
W: Well. I've just been to a presentation by the Head of Department. It sounds like a great place to do math — that's my favorite subject. A lot of students go into finance. I can't say that's ever appealed to me, though. How about you?
M: My teachers tell me about opportunities in the computer industry, so I'm considering that.
W: There's a talk about subjects and majors later this afternoon by the headmaster. Will you go?
M: Oh, I'd love to, but I'm going to give that a miss to catch my train home.
Text 10
W: Good morning, everyone. I'm May from the London City Museum. Here is good news for art lovers. Works of Conner Goodman will occupy our entire museum next week, from May 4th to May 10th, who is a talented painter and sculptor living in London. Each museum hall will represent a time period in English history, specifically centered on the capital. Mr. Goodman records less commonly known moments in the city's history taken from literature and films. Upon entering the museum, visitors will experience London as it was 2,000 years ago, in the time of ancient Rome. Each succeeding gallery that visitors encounter will show younger versions of the city up to present-day London. Mr. Goodman's art makes use of a range of media, including paint, video, and even recycled materials. You will need a ticket to enter the museum and it costs £15 a person. Also, Conner Goodman will give a lecture to discuss the exhibition at Cornwall Hall on Saturday, 9 May, at 7:00 pm. Tickets are £20 and half of the money will be donated to the Historic Building Conservation Society. You can call 7946 0609 for more information, but I should say the best way to get details is searching our official website. There are even some pictures of Mr. Goodman's works. Thanks for listening.
