W: Captain John Wren is going to be Linda's guest on the show next week.

M: Really? Do you mean the pilot who flew alone to the North Pole?

W: When did you get back from vacation?

M: I wish though! I was in Chicago visiting one of our branch offices.

W: Hello, I'm interested in the sign you've put up. I'd like to see what the room for rent looks like.

M: Well, let me show you the room. This way, please.

M: Madam, you'd like wine flavored bamboo shoots, mixed vegetables and jasmine with white fungi. Am I right?

W: Yes, exactly.

M: Madam, your dishes will take about 15 minutes to prepare. While waiting, would you have something to drink?

W: OK. I'll have black tea.

M: Rain is essential for life, but too much of it can lead to flooding, carrying dangerous substances to nearby river systems. There is a creative way to deal with that. This rooftop garden helps absorb rainwater and grow food at the same time. Architect David Bell designed five green roofs on a campus. And this project is really exciting, because it started to do something more than just dealing with storm water management. It took advantage of a resource above the city you see all over where you have these flat roofs that aren't doing anything, and it really made it something that was about urban agriculture. In an urban environment, you don't have all that many spaces to choose from, and so rooftops are just the space. So it's a really good way because there is no necessity to rebuild your city to bring fresh food into cities where you wouldn't necessarily have that access. The biggest surprise was that the five green roofs produced four thousand two hundred and fifty pounds of produce the first year, which was distributed to people in need. This is the future for food.
