M: Put on your warm hat and gloves. It is cold here and gloves will protect your hands if you fall.

W: Falling is my only concern. I always slip on the ice. I hope you can help me.

 

W: My husband took my car today，so I guess I'll take the train home.

M: I usually ride the bus home. It's easy and cheap for me. I don't even have a car.

W: OK, I'll just follow you since we live close to each other.

 

W: Do you think I look fat in this dress? My clothes seem to feel tighter these days.

M: You look fine. I'm lucky to have such a beautiful and clever daughter.

M: I'm afraid I won't vote for him. His record on the environment is not very good.

W: But he is enthusiastic about workers' rights and helping the poor.

M: I want to invite a lot of people to my birthday party. Are 50 people too many?

W: The restaurant can hold 20 people. We'll have to change the place or make the guest list shorter.

M: Could we have the party at your house?

W: My place is even smaller. What about on a friend's rooftop?

M: Jenny's rooftop apartment would be perfect!

W: How many people should we tell her to expect?

M: My 50-person list is a little too long. I'll cut the list in half to reduce the crowd.

W: That sounds great! I'm sure she'll be excited to host it.

W: Yes. I have a brother who is two years older than me. We get along very well. We often played together when we were little.

M: Wow, I'm proud of you, my girl. I guess you must be hungry after such a long business trip?

W: Yeah.

M: How about going to eat first? Your mom says there is a restaurant near here serving nice steaks.

W: I had steaks this afternoon. How about some Chinese food?

M: OK. I know one that isn't far away from here. Let's go.

As a result, other parents asked me to do the show at their children's parties.

M: It must be a lot of work for you.

W: Yes, but I loved it. Luckily my neighbour Lena was willing to perform with me. Her husband recorded the music to go with the shows.

M: Have you ever had any problems?

W: Only once. I wrote a story about a lion. The children were afraid of the lion and cried. I was worried the parents might complain. But they just laughed about it. After that, whenever I've invented a new story, I will show it to my daughter. She always tells me exactly what she thinks of it.

M: Home security is becoming one of the fastest growing technology markets. Previously, home owners had to get expensive alarms. These systems could not be relied upon, and would even be set off if there was a power cut. Nowadays, with advancements in technology, it is easy to add extra protection to your home at affordable prices. Some companies have released doorbells that also have cameras. The main selling point of these devices is that when someone rings your doorbell, you can choose to answer via your cellphone, even if you're not in the house. This can drive away thieves as they believe the house is occupied. They also takes photos of people in your house. Some cameras come with face recognition software so that if it doesn't recognize someone, it will inform you or the authorities. So-called "smart homes" allow you to control and monitor your home from your smart phone or tablet. You are able to turn the lights on and off while in another country, making it appear occupied. You can also monitor smart security cameras that can sit in your home, or outside on your walls. These also allow you to monitor your pets and children, keeping your loved ones under your watchful eyes.
