M: OK. But could you hold my bag? All my books are in it. It is a little heavy.

W: Yes, no problem.

 

M: Have you ever thought about roasting the sausages instead of boiling them? I've heard they taste much better that way.

W: You may be right. However, the ones I'm cooking were frozen, so I can't roast them in the roaster.

 

M: Is my writing too long for the short play competition? The limit is 20 minutes per play.

W: It probably is. Actually, one page of writing nearly equals two minutes of stage time. Therefore, your writing will probably make a 30-minute play.

 

W: The shopping center has a new tea shop. Milk tea is available right now.

M: But I can't bear the lines. Waiting 30 minutes for a drink is boring.

W: Especially when there are shops with hardly any lines at all. Most brands are similar anyway.

I've been sticking to the same daily routine. It gives a lot of structure to my life. I get up at 6:00 am and go out for a walk. When I'm back, I shower and dress and then make breakfast for my family. I begin my work at 8:30 am. My workday can be fairly busy. Occasionally, I may need to drive to the office if we have a face-to-face meeting, but these days, I mostly work from home. Technology allows us to save time on waiting for decisions. I always try to make sure my calls last no more than 15 minutes. I find longer calls tend to be less productive. If the weather is nice, I like to read in the garden in the afternoon. It helps me relax. Most of the time, I spend the afternoon going over reports before 4:30 pm. My daughter Cassie is home by then. I help her with her schoolwork, and then we cook dinner together. This is my favorite time of the day. Family should cook together. It brings them closer. After dinner, Cassie goes to bed while my wife and I relax with a TV show or a film.
