W: I'm looking forward to our break in Italy.I can't wait to dive into their culture.

W: When I was young,I was in love with a boy band.But when I finally got to see them, they were a disappointment.

 

  

W: I have to create a budget for this month.I'm renting a beautiful new apartment,but it's more expensive than before.

M: Not yet. I was supposed to see it with Bill on Friday, but we had to reschedule it on next Tuesday instead.

W: Oh, it's great!I saw it on Saturday night and I'm already planning to see it again!

 

  

M: I like the book that it's based on.And I learned about the director in my film class and really enjoyed his work.

W: Well,I hope it meets your expectations!Oh,it's about to start.Let me turn my phone off.

M: Yes, last week I accepted a job in Texas.It's a junior sales position in a large insurance company,although I'm not sure about their reputation.

W: That's great.I guess they have pretty good benefits for their staff.

M: Actually, they aren't great, but the starting salary is very impressive for someone without much experience.

W: I'm sure you will be successful in sales, since you were president of the student union and joined many clubs in university.

M: Thanks,Elaine.I am hoping that experience will serve me well.

W: Sounds like you're dealing well with them without speaking Chinese.

M: The main problem is that when I get my hair cut, they just don't understand I want the same kind of haircut all year round — not shorter in the summer.

W: Hmm,you can't really take a Chinese person with you to explain, can you? How about getting someone to write a note for you?

M: Yes,I might just do that.

W: Do you think you might learn Chinese?

M: Yes, I'd like to,although it looks extremely difficult.

W: Now for a happy story. Annette Potter,75,and her husband Colin,76,thought the only recording of their wedding had been lost years ago. So, the couple were amazed when a chance discovery of some old film allowed them to view their special day again — 52 years later. Bill Gourlay,a filmmaker from Dunfermline,Fife,was given the film by a friend who asked him to transform it to the digital one. Mr. Gourlay was eager to find the mystery couple recorded in the film of the wedding in Kirkcaldy. After seeing the story in a newspaper, the Potters were amazed to finally look back at their big day.Mrs.Potter said,"We looked so young. It brought back a lot of happy memories.It was amazing to see all our friends and family on the film after all these years. It was very moving.My daughter saw it and had a bit of a cry. "Mr.and Mrs.Potter met at a dance in 1966. Mr. Potter, who was 21 at the time,was working as a mechanic while Annette was training to be a teacher. They were together for two years before getting married on July 27,1968 in front of around 80 guests. The couple looked very happy when they reflected on the occasion.
