M: No, not really. I was thinking of playing football with my friends. But the speech competition is approaching, so I had to stay at home to prepare for it.

W: At least one month. But you'll also need to eat healthier foods and do running exercises.

M: Later on, I'll go to the gym three times per week rather than once.

 

 

M: I've been scared to travel by plane ever since I was a kid. I love driving, though.

W: I agree about flying. It's so inconvenient to drive long distances, though.

M: I bet a really fast train would be the best alternative.

W: Are they playing here in Paris?

M: They chose a stadium in England to avoid giving either team home-field advantage.

 

 

W: Thank you, young man. This bag is so heavy. I never could have carried it onto the train.

M: My pleasure, ma'am. I saw you struggling and felt I needed to help.

Many young people look for careers in the most popular job markets such as computer programming or website design. These industries are important, because in the future we will continue to need more people working on computer technology. Additionally, many young people choose jobs in health care. Doctors and hospital workers will always be in high demand, but the fastest-growing job market in the country today is health workers caring for people in their homes. Finding career opportunities also depends on where you live. If you live in Boston, the largest field of work is in universities. If you live in New York City, the largest workforce is in finance. Or, if you live here in Los Angeles like me, the largest industry is entertainment. Whichever opportunity you'd like to pursue, remember these important rules for having a career. The biggest rule is to do something that you have a passion for. Once you choose something inspiring, you must try to meet people in that industry. Meeting these people is not only to find progressive advice for your career, but also the best way to develop professional contacts and find a job for yourself.
