听下面20段对话。每段对话后有一个小题，从题中所给的A、B、C三个选项中选出最佳选项。听完每段对话后，你都有7秒钟的时间来回答有关小题和阅读下一小题。每段对话仅读一遍。

M: Do you want to run one more lap?

W: Yes, I do. But shall we stop and drink some water first?

 

 

M: It's raining again. The weather report says it's going to snow tonight. I don't like this kind of weather.

W: But it's going to be sunny this weekend.

 

 

 

 

M:Hi Sally! This is Joe.

W:Hi Joe!

M:We're planning a surprise party for Susanna this Friday. She is retiring this month. Would you like to come?

W:Sure, count me in.

 

 

 

 

M: Kate, don't make noise. This football match is great.

W: I think you should turn off the TV.Both John and I are preparing for the final exam.

 

 

 

 

M: Let's go for a nice walk into the country this afternoon.

W: I'd like to,  but I've agreed to go with Alice to buy some clothes. 

 

 

 

 

 W: I suppose you've missed the last bus. Let me give you a ride.

M: Thank you. You are so kind.  But Mary and I are going to take the subway home.  It's convenient.

 

 

W: What kind of book do you like reading?

M: Various kinds. As a boy, I liked science fiction. When I became a teenager, I enjoyed reading detective stories. Now, I like love stories. 

 

 

M: Have we missed it? The man said it's only 5 blocks away opposite the bank.

W: Wait a minute. The Chinese Restaurant? The National Bank?  There it is, the Radisson Hotel. 

 

 

W: Jack, how do you like the play?

M: It's a simple story with a happy ending. But luckily it had a very strong actor and he managed to carry the whole play. 

 

 

M: Let's meet at twenty to five.

W: Well, could we make it twenty past five?

M: That's a bit late for me.  I could manage ten past five. 

W:  OK. See you then .

 

 

M: What did you get for New Year this year, Martha?

W: My grandpa gave me a watch, and  my sister got me a new pair of shoes.  But the coolest present was from my dad: a new bike.

 

 

W: When does the mailman come by?

M:  Usually by four o'clock in the afternoon , but he's late today. It's already six o'clock, but there's nothing in the mailbox.

 

 

M: You know, Jason can play tennis, swim, play soccer... but I can't.

W: It doesn't matter. I mean,  you can play the guitar, play basketball , cook and even speak three languages. You are great.

 

 

W: I joined our country's new programme called Internet Plus nursing services.

M: Really? Tell me more about it.

W: It was carried out in six provinces from February and  it will run until the end of the year. 

 

 

W: So, what are you going to do for your birthday?

M: Well, I was hoping to have a party but most of my friends are too busy.  I've accepted my parents' offer to take me out for a meal. 

 

 

W:  Jack, sometimes you need to share.  You should be nice to Willie and let him play on the swings too. Wouldn't you want him to do the same thing for you?

M: That's not fair! I was here first.

 

 

W: It takes me 24 minutes to walk from my apartment to the subway station, and half that time to get to the bus stop. 

M: Well, the bus ride is 30 minutes longer, so it's still better to take the subway.

 

 

W: That smells great, Lawrence! What are you cooking?

M:  I took a Thai cooking class during my vacation there last month.  I've been trying to make a new recipe every week.

W: Great! I haven't had Thai food since last year.

 

 

W: Hi, Jim. What's wrong with you? You look sad.

M: My father took away my computer yesterday. He said I couldn't have it back until all the exams are over.

W: My mother did something similar to me. She took away my cellphone. 

 

 

M:  Does your grandma still live in your hometown? 

W:  Yes . She says she can take care of herself though her hearing is going.  She loves to have her children go back and stay with her. But she wouldn't come to live with us. 

M: That's typical of people of her age.

M: This motorcycle cost me $1,000! I think it's too expensive.

W: I don't think so.  In fact, you got it at a rather fair price.  Motorcycles of the same type are more expensive in other shops. Jimmy got the same one at $1,200 last month, you know.

 

 

 

 

W: I know you will feel disappointed when you lose, Ronald.  But that's what team sports are all about. You win together, and you lose together.  You can't be perfect all the time.

M:I know it is the teamwork. But I've been trying extra hard lately.

 

 

W: Excuse me, sir.  Is there a barbershop near here? 

M: Yes, the nearest one is at the third crossing of this road.

W: I'm a stranger here.How can I get there, please?

M: Walk down the road for a few minutes,and you'll find it on your right, just next to a drugstore.

 

 

M: I'm going swimming in the lake on Sunday. Do you want to come?

W:  Isn't it going to be cloudy? 

M: That doesn't matter because it will be 25 degrees.

W: OK. I went swimming last Saturday when it was raining. It was funnier than swimming on a sunny day!

 

 

M: Do you want to go to the concert this evening?

W: Yeah. We could go and eat something first.

M: All right. Why don't I wait for you outside the bookstore  at about six?

W:  OK.  I'll meet you there when I finish work. Then we can look for a café before the concert.

 

 

M:  I find there are plenty of classical music CDs  on the Internet. You can buy them very cheaply if you like them.

W: Great.  I know you often listen to them.  You can try some rock music, which can make you energetic and powerful. And jazz music also makes people feel relaxed.

M: Mm, I sometimes listen to them.

 

 

W: Hi, Thomas. This is Katie. I found your notebook in the library. Please come to get it back in the classroom. Or  I just leave it in the teachers' office in Room 201, if you don't have time now. 

M: Oh. That's great, Katie! I have been looking for it all day long.  I'll get it tomorrow morning. 

 

 

W: Bill, the soccer game is starting! Let's watch it.

M: You go ahead. I need to finish my homework first.

W: Come on, let's watch the game. You can do the homework at home.

M:When I get home,  I'd like some snacks first  and then enjoy one of my hobbies.

W: What hobby? Do you still play the guitar?

M: Yes. I need to practice for at least one hour per day to keep up with my band.
