第一组

听下面11段对话。每段对话后有一个小题，从题中所给的A、B、C三个选项中选出最佳选项。听完每段对话后，你都有8秒钟的时间来回答有关小题和阅读下一小题。每段对话仅读一遍。

 

现在你有5秒钟的时间阅读第1小题的有关内容。

 

 

 

W: What do you think of Doctor Green's speech?

M: Well, it is interesting enough.  But it would be better if it were shorter. 

 

 

 

 

W:  It's a pleasant flat. 

M: Yeah.  As you see, the flat is newly fitted up , and all other furniture has been prepared.

 

 

 

W:Harry, do you think Mike is too ambitious and dishonest?

M:Yes,I agree.I like his brother, Barry.

W:Yes.They are not alike.  Barry is very friendly and much more honest than Mike. 

 

 

M: Shall we watch TV tonight?

W: All right. What's on tonight? Anything special?

M:  A pop show on Channel 6 is at 7:30.  Then at 8:20 there's a western.

 

 

 

W: The movie we saw last night is exciting, isn't it?

M: Oh, no.  I don't like it. The story isn't very interesting. 

W:  I'm sorry you are disappointed. 

 

 

M: We want to take a train to New York. How much do I have to pay for the express train?

W: The first class is $24, and  the second class is $15. 

M:  We'd like two second-class tickets. 

 

 

M: Can you come to my house tonight, Maria? I've got a new video game.

W: I don't like video games, Joe.  But I want to hang out with you in the park after I finish my homework. 

M:  Sounds like a good idea. 

 

 

M: Hey, Katherine. Do you know any special ways to listen to lectures better?

W: Well, I like to take notes.  But if the topic is difficult, I often record the whole thing.  That way, I can listen to the lecture all over again and take really good notes.

 

 

M: Hi, Linda! What are you doing in this neighborhood? Don't you live on Main Street downtown?

W: Hi, Nick!  My husband and I just moved to a house not far from yours.  That's a lot bigger than our old downtown apartment. I was going to visit you tomorrow.

 

 

M: I don't know what's happening. I can't get Sampras' website.

W: Did you type the correct address?

M: Yes, it can't be wrong. Is something up? Or has his site been changed already?

W: I'm not sure either.  Maybe you can ask this question at   www.tennis.com.  

 

 

W: Can you make it faster? I'm afraid I won't be in time for my train to Birmingham.

M: The traffic is heavy.  It'll still take us 15 minutes to get there,  I guess.

W: OK. If that's true,  I'll still have another 15 minutes to catch my 9:30 train.

M: Hello. Do you like to watch a football game tomorrow afternoon?

W: That's great.  But I have to help my mom buy some food.  I am afraid it might cost me quite a long time.

M: Well, I think I can give you a hand if you want. In that case, you can come with me.

W: Wow, that is very kind of you. By the way, when will the game begin?

M: 2:00 p.m. I will pick you up at 1:30 p.m.

W: OK. See you tomorrow.

W: It's quite small. And it's made of plastic.  It's not leather or anything.  

M:  Has it got a pattern on it? 

W:  No. It's gray, with a handkerchief tied to it. 

M:  Well, you're in luck. This one was handed in by the restaurant staff ten minutes ago.

W: But I am very busy today,   as I am going to class now for the next 3 hours.  Can you ask her to come to my office at 9:00 am tomorrow morning?

M: Yes, that will be no problem. Thank you for making time for her and hopefully we will see her at this university as my schoolmate soon.
