听下面一段独白,回答第17至第20四个小题。现在你有20秒钟的时间阅读这四个小题。

Have you ever heard of the word "tacky"? I thought about this word yesterday as I was with my daughter in our car. She was driving and I was looking out of the window at the different buildings and building signs. Here in the United States, business signs tend to be very big, very tall, and very brightly colored. We stopped at the traffic light. There was a supermarket on my left, and on my right, I saw a hotel sign that said Super Ten. The sign was very high, very large, and bright yellow with red letters. I thought to myself, "How tacky! " After that, I decided to look into the history of the word. Interestingly enough, it was originally used to describe a horse of little value. It is amusing how words develop and how their meanings change over time.

Nowadays it is very normal to hear the word "tacky" which describes something that is not expensive and is in poor taste. Personally, I like the pronunciation of it. And we often use the sentence "That is not tacky at all".
