W:Why do you have three dustbins? Are they all yours?

M:Yes.The blue one is for things that can be recycled. The brown one is for general waste, and the green one is for garden waste like branches and grass.

M:There's a bird in the garden and it can't fly.I think it's injured.Should we help it?

W:Perhaps it's young and hasn't learned to fly or it's old and is struggling to fly.

M:No,look! The cat is attacking it.I'll go and rescue it.

M:Oh,you got the last one.I wanted that. The melons here are always the best.

W:All those are not the reasons.I just don't like the taste.I tried steak once, but I gave it to my neighbor's dog.

W:But we're not allowed to bring any electronic devices with us.

M:That's not a bad idea.I wouldn't have any problems at all,but I doubt if you'd be able to do it.You're on your phone every two minutes!

W:You don't think I could do it?

M:Think about it.When was the last time you used your phone?I haven't touched mine since I got back from work.

W:I don't know — like an hour ago.

M:Wrong. You were on it five minutes ago!

W:Yeah, but we hadn't started talking about the weekend yet!I'm ready now.

M:That's great. What about the students' request to add more parking spaces?

W:Unfortunately, that's not something I have control over. However,my plan to have our cooks serve healthier lunches has been approved.

M:Good for you.

W:Most importantly,I want all students to have the proper resources to succeed. That means a better library and better equipment for our sports teams.

M: Well,it's about time we won a championship! What about the school dance?I'm really looking forward to it.

W:We'll be ready to go at the end of the month. But what I'm really excited about is the science fair next week. It's a fantastic opportunity to show how talented our students are.And don't forget our spring concert next month. You won't want to miss it!

M:Thanks a lot,Patty.Well,we're out of time.Check out all the latest news — and my article in the school newspaper!

When I think about what my favorite type of music is,I always consider what the time is as well.It seems like my music choices change depending on the season. For example,in the winter time,I listen to a lot more jazz, but in the summer,I prefer rock'n'roll.Sometimes certain songs refresh my memory. It is hard not to wonder if some song was playing during the event I am remembering or if some song just reminds me of that time.I even find myself listening to sadder songs when it is cold or during rainstorms! But music is more than just entertainment. It is a tool! There have been many studies based on music and how it can affect our emotions. In one of those studies, people were asked for stress levels while listening to music.By playing different styles, the scientists were able to pick out which type of music was the best for staying calm. They concluded that classical music helps change the brain and lower the heart rate. Not only did this experiment work on people, but  it also showed similar results on animals too. So,if you are finding yourself very anxious, maybe you should sit down and listen to music! If this type of experiment interests you,you should look up how music helps people work harder, too!
