W: I'd like to know when you can deliver the goods to us.

M: Not in November. Oh, it's already September this month... The goods will be delivered in October.

W: Fasten your seat belt, sir.

M: Oh, sorry. I didn't realize that we were going to land so soon. I was so comfortable that I almost thought I was in my own car.

M: Are you going to take German again this year?

W: No, I didn't do so well in the class. I'm going to try Italian instead. It's closer to French, which is what my grandmother speaks to me, so it should be easy.

M: That was relaxing! There's nothing like some exercise in the pool before going to work!

W: It's a good way to work off a big breakfast, isn't it? Why don't we meet at the café at noon for a coffee and a sandwich?

M: Sure.

M: Sarah, make sure you give the kids dinner at six, and have them in bed by eight. Don't forget to have them brush their teeth and call us if you have any problems.

W: OK, Mr. Chu. When will you return?

M: We'll be back by ten.

M: Thanks for helping me out, Elizabeth. My parents say I have to get this done before they get home.

W: No problem, Dave. I'm happy to help. What do you want me to do?

M: First, I need you to bring me a towel. There is one behind the door.

W: OK. Now what?

M: I'll wash the windows and the wheels, and you clean everything inside the car. Make sure you look under the seats.

W: Wow! There is a lot of garbage back here. I wonder what it looks like under your bed!

M: Trust me please...

M: Hi, Carol. Are you ready to start our project about pets?

W: Yes, John. What pets should we focus on?

M: Tom and I were thinking of cats or dogs. Which would you prefer?

W: Well, I don't know much about either of them. What about fish?

M: That's a good idea. I'll ask Tom to take some pictures of fish. You do the research.

W: Sure. What else should we discuss, John?

M: I think we should make some cards so we won't forget what we're saying during the presentation.

W: Sounds great. But I hate speaking in public, so I'd prefer not to do the introduction.

M: I'll do that. I don't mind at all.

W: I'm sure Mary can give the summary at the end.

M: OK, it's settled.

听下面一段对话,回答第11至第13三个小题。现在你有15秒钟的时间阅读这三个小题。

M: How was your trip back to your hometown?

W: Great, except for the flights. On the way there I stopped in Munich and had to wait six hours for my flight. On the way back I stopped in Zurich and waited four hours.

M: That doesn't make sense. It shouldn't take that long to get to Lisbon from Beijing.

W: You're right, but that is the cheapest flight I could get. I bought these tickets three months ago. M: That's too early! My brother says you should always buy your ticket 40 to 50 days before your flight leaves.

W: That might work normally, but not around our National Day. If you book too late, your ticket will be much more expensive.

M: So what did you do while you were there?

W: First, I visited some of my old relatives in the small villages, and we exchanged gifts. Then I spent several days in the city with my friends. The last few days I returned home to stay with my mom and dad.

M: Sounds like fun.

M: When do adults usually take part in adult education programs in America every year?

W: They attend classes designed especially for working people on weekends or at night.

M: What do most of those students study?

W: Well, some adults are completing high school, college, or graduate work. But most of them are just trying to learn new job skills or exploring new interests.

M: What kinds of interests?

W: Many of the students attend art classes, for example.

M: If you take a class at a community college, can you get a certificate at the end to prove that you've done it?

W: Nearly all of the classes will provide you with a participation certificate, but there are some classes that will also give you a professional certificate.

M: What kinds of classes are those?

W: Most language classes will give you a certificate based on your ability in the language. You can also get certificates for things like first aid training.

M: Have you ever taken a class like that?

W: I usually take a few classes a year.

M: What kinds of classes do you usually take?

W: I take drawing and dance classes, but just for fun.

Welcome to Water World, the largest water park in California. Water World is split into three countries: Lakeland, Rainforest River, and Oceana. Lakeland is a great place for the whole family. Take easy rides on calm lakes and visit the islands at their centers. For more adventures, check out Rainforest River. We have many choices of rafting rides and water tubes to slide down, or try our “Waterfall”. Children must be 48 inches tall to ride alone, and at least 42 inches with an adult. If you are a real thrill seeker, you can't miss Oceana. It is the biggest part of our park, and has over 24 rides. Our newest is called “The Sink” and is exactly what you might imagine. Slide around a huge basin, and fall 15 feet through the bottom into a large pool. Swim to the deep end, and enjoy our most visited attraction: the wave pool. Waves start every 45 minutes and reach up to 6 feet tall. Lastly, at 10:00 and 12:00, we have a special performance. You can watch the Spanish and pirate ships battle it out on the high seas. It's all here at Water World!
