W: Yang Nianhui, a 15 -year-old high school student in Beijing, has caused a lively discussion among Chinese social media users after she wrote and published her first novel, The Vampires of Lorania, in English."I have spent over 5 years on the book's creation, and it's a story discussing the definition of heroes from the angle of a teenager," said Yang. In her about 60,000-word-long novel, Yang presents a magical land named Lorania for the readers, where the residents are vampires, the creatures which live off human blood and therefore can live forever.According to the newspaper Beijing Youth Daily, the book's publisher spoke highly of the book for its imagination, noting that it was the first time that they had published a student's literary work independently. "As a 15-year-old girl, Yang has shown the public her talent for literature and ability of thinking in English freely. It's hard to believe that a teenager at her age can publish a novel, let alone in a foreign language," said one of her book fans.
