M: Do you like swimming? Well, how can you learn to swim? I think the best way is to go into the water and learn. I'm afraid you'll never learn to swim just by reading books about swimming or watching others swimming. It's the same for the English study. You should practice, practice and practice. Listening and speaking are very important for beginners. You can listen to English programs. You may just understand a few words at first. It doesn't matter. Just be relaxed, and try to catch every word.

To improve reading and writing, you should choose the books you're interested in first. A lot of reading will improve your language sense. Keep writing English diaries also works. You can also try to write English articles.

W: Many students feel it difficult to memorize new words. Now I will give you some advice.

First, make word lists. Most students memorize new words in this way. If you write them in groups such as food and clothes, it will be better. Making word lists is a popular and helpful way to memorize new words.

Second, learn new words through the ear. You can find radio programs or TV programs, and listen to them carefully. As you listen to more conversations, you can  learn the correct pronunciation easily.

Third, write the names on the objects and say the words when you see them. For example, you can write "bottle" on a piece of paper, and place it on a bottle. Say it as soon as you see it.
