M: I had an exciting experience last night. It was a rainy night. After finishing my homework, I was going to bed. Just then I heard a sound of footsteps near my window. Who was it? It can’t be my mom or dad, because they had gone to their friend’s birthday party. It might be my neighbor. Maybe he wanted to go to work. I felt very scared and ran to my bed quickly. On the bed I remembered the TV news about the lost bear in the zoo. Yes, it must be the lost bear. Then I called the police at once.

M: I felt it was strange so I called the police. They found some feathers.

W: So it was a bird?

M: The police thought it was a bird killed by the power line. But my dad thought it was a UFO.

W: Last Friday an earthquake hit two villages. A farmer said the earthquake began early in the morning and lasted for about one minute. He was in the kitchen with his family when he heard a loud noise. When they ran out, he found that one of his children was missing. He went back inside and found the missing child in the bathroom, safe but terrified.A woman said that her husband had just left for work when their house started shaking. She rushed out with her children,but they had no time to take anything. After the earthquake many soldiers went to the villages to help.

M: Hi! I am Sam. I overslept yesterday morning so I ran to the bus stop in a hurry. On the bus,  a young girl made faces at me.  I looked over my shoulder and found that one of my socks was on my shoulder. I quickly took it down and put it in my pocket. What was worse, I wore my pants inside out. As soon as the bus stopped at the station, I got off and ran to the restroom.
