Many people must have heard of Marie Curie. She was a famous scientist. She was born in 1867 in Poland. Her family was quite poor so she had to attend public school, but she was an excellent student. She became a home teacher when she left school to help pay for her sister's education. A few years later she left for Paris and went to university.

In 1895, she married Pierre Curie. They worked hard together. They won the Nobel Prize in Physics in 1903. Eight years later, Marie Curie won the Nobel Prize in Chemistry on her own. She died in 1934. She was very famous because she was the first person to win two Nobel Prizes.

Duncan and Mrs Miller come to class together. We all love Duncan, but we can't play with him. He always pays attention to helping and protecting my teacher. He is always working.

Another hero of mine is Mrs Miller. She has poor eyesight but she is a good teacher. She is always patient when she explains something to us.
