M: What do you need at the shop? Some bread or cheese?

W: Neither. I’ve got enough bread and cheese. I need some eggs.

W:Lisa told me you went to London last month. Did you go there for business or pleasure?

M: My aunt lives there and I haven’t seen her for a long time.

M: The fish we bought last week has gone bad. It smells terrible in the fridge.

W: Throw it away and put some tea bags in the fridge. They can rid it of the unpleasant smell.

W: Honey, Jane is waiting for us for a barbecue.

M: But I’ve not finished my chemistry report yet. I need to search for some materials.

W: OK. I will tell this to Jane and then I can accompany you to the local library.

W: Steven, I have got a terrible headache and I’m afraid I must ask for sick leave. Could you help me take my math homework to Mr. Smith?

M: No problem. Just have a good rest and don’t worry about the class. I will bring back my math notes to you.

M: Good afternoon. I learned that this house is for sale. May I have a look at it, please?

W: Yes, of course. Come in.

M: How long have you lived here?

W: Almost 5 years. I had planned to live here for 10 to 20 years, but I lost my job recently. So I want to change my house for a smaller one.

M: The house looks great. How much does it cost?

W: $150,000. And I can offer a two percent discount if you make full payment.

M: OK. I like this house. Let’s sign a contract.

M: Hello, this is Tom. May I speak to Mary please?

W: This is Mary. Speaking please.

M: I’m calling to ask if you can give me a lift tomorrow when going downtown. I need to see my doctor, but Lily drove our car to the countryside. 

W: No problem. I’m going to do some shopping tomorrow. What time should I pick you up?

M: How about 8:00 in the morning? The appointment with my doctor is at about 9:00. We need around an hour to arrive there.

W: OK. I’ll leave home at 7:30 tomorrow morning. It takes about half an hour to reach your place.

M: It’s very nice of you. Many thanks. See you tomorrow.

W: My pleasure. See you then.

M: Ah. I met the Greens. They were having a picnic and the children were running and laughing. They looked so happy. 

W: Did you join them?

M: No. I greeted them with a smile and walked on. You know there is always so much scenery to enjoy in the park. And I needed to take some photos to record it.

M: So how about your holiday, Jane? I’ve heard you went to China.

W: Yes, that’s an amazing country. I went to the Great Wall and the Forbidden City. And I liked the food there, especially Peking duck and dumplings.

M: Sounds great. I will add China to my list.

W: What’s that?

M:I am used to writing down the places where I want to go on the list. Then I’ll make plans to visit them one by one.

W: Wow, that’s really a good idea. I only have a to-do list of our office work. Maybe I could give it a try, too.

The moment I stepped into the college campus, I thought I would spend a long time living here. But soon the last year of the college life comes. Time flies and when I look back on the passed days here, I realize I am a person with good fortune. Firstly, I chose English as my major and I love learning it. I find some of my classmates do not show much interest in their major, but they learn it because their parents made the choice for them. So I feel lucky to learn what I like. The more I learn, the more enthusiastic about my major I become. It helps me know more about the world. Secondly, I have made many good friends. Since I lived in the dorm, I have learned to get along with my roommates. Luckily we have so many things in common. We share our opinions about things happening in our daily life. We inspire each other when we set ourselves targets and make progress together. The life in college is such an unforgettable memory for me. I gain both knowledge and friendship. 
