W: What do you think of Beijing? It must be different from your hometown.
M: Well, I'm from a small town in Yunnan. Living in a beautiful town is very enjoyable. Beijing is so crowded, noisy and busy. But I like the people in Beijing. They are quite friendly to me.
W: Is everything expensive in your hometown?
M: No, everything is at an acceptable price, especially the house.
W: How much do you spend in renting a flat for a month in Yunnan?
M: From 300 yuan to 500 yuan.

M: Yes. I'm wondering if I can work in the city. I'm afraid I can't make both ends meet.
W: Cheer up!

You may have seen on your calendar that today’s a special day: Grandparents Day. I remember the stories my own grandmother used to tell me about her childhood in Maine. Each Thanksgiving, she and her family would skate on the lake near her house. Over the course of her life, the winter freeze came later and later — to the point where the lake no longer froze by Thanksgiving. She saw first-hand how climate change impacted a family tradition. That’s why Grandparents Day has me think about what sort of world we’re leaving for our children and grandchildren. You see, I just got back from a camping trip with my family, exploring our National Parks. Let me tell you, seeing the wonder of nature through my kids’ eyes was incredible and it’s an experience I want my kids to enjoy when they grow up and have children and grandchildren of their own. Today, in honor of Grandparents Day, I want to personally thank you for everything you do to protect our natural heritage for the next generation.
