My name is Liu Ming. I'm a junior student from a beautiful town. Last year I went to America as an exchange student. It was a busy weekday. I got on a crowded bus. Luckily, I got a seat. After a few stops, an elderly foreigner got on the bus and stood near me. I know it's polite to offer seats to the elderly in China, so I did that. But to my surprise, he didn't accept it. Later I understood if the gentleman took the seat, it would mean he was old. Most Westerners at a certain age don't want others to think they are old. From this thing I got to know about a cultural difference between China and Western countries.

There are all kinds of festivals throughout the world. Spain is famous for its Tomato Festival. It takes place on the last Wednesday of August every year. The tomato fight is the most exciting part of the festival. It starts at 11 a.m. and ends at 1 p.m. People usually throw more than 240,000 pounds of tomatoes at each other. Soon, there will be a tomato sea in the town. There are some important things you should know. First, if you want to have fun at it, don't wear your favorite clothes. Next, people throw tomatoes at anybody for fun. So if you are easy to get angry, then don't take part in the fight. Finally, just be careful and don't hurt yourself.
