M: Congratulations, Linda! Have you told your parents about that?

W: Yes, I have! They are really proud of me. To be honest, I'd rather get some money than go traveling.

M: Molly, have you read The Gift of the Magi written by O.Henry? If not, I recommend it to you.

W: Yes. I enjoy reading his short stories. What I admire most about him is that he even wrote stories while he was in prison. Who is your favorite American writer, Mark Twain, Ernest Hemingway or Jack London?

M: The last one. He was born of a poor family in San Francisco in 1876. He left school at 14 and then became a sailor, a hunter and an explorer. In 1897, he went to the Klondike in Canada. London found adventures that he put into his most famous stories and novels. Now I'm reading his story Love of Life.

W: I remember Mrs.Evans once introduced him to us in her class. Can you lend some of his works to me?

M: No problem.

W: Hi, Bob, you can join me at my table. It's unusual to see you come here. You rarely go out of our office at noon.

M: Well, I'm tired of ordering carryout food now, and I've heard authentic Chinese food is served here.

W: Where are you going to spend your holiday this year?

M: We may go abroad , but I'm not so sure.

W: What do you mean?

M: Well, my wife's been talking about Egypt, an interesting country. But we can't make up our minds yet. You know, a round-trip ticket to Egypt costs a lot.

W: Then you could go by ship.

M: You're right. It's cheaper, isn't it?

W: You may save at least half of the money.

M: Don't you think it would take more time?

W: But you can enjoy the scene of the sea and the rising sun.

M: Yes, I'll tell my wife and if we do go, we will take a ship.

W: You'll definitely enjoy yourselves, I'm sure.

M: Don't be so sure. We may not go anywhere.

W: You always hesitate about everything.

M: You know, I always consider too much. Who is going to look after the house? Who is going to look after the garden? And who is going to look after the pets? We have these problems every year. And in the end we have to stay at home and look after everything.

them anymore.

M: I have no idea, either. Maybe they're in that big box. Many basic necessities have been put in it.

W: Oh, look at what's inside the pot. Here they are. I can't believe how much work is involved in changing our house.

M: Actually, I didn't expect this, either.

W: I hope this is the last time we move.

M: Me, too. I thought it was just a matter of calling a moving company. But I was totally wrong.

W: That's just the beginning. Everything has to be organized and packed first.

M: It's a good thing that the kids are helping.

W: Yes, they have made things easier, but I don't want to go through this again.

M: We won't. Remember, we've got our dream house.

You can find unbelievable videos, articles, and those stories about the success of others.  The problem is that consuming the success of others is passive inspiration. Every time you read an article or listen to an interview, you are practicing passive inspiration. You might learn something, but you don't actually have to do anything. Hearing about other people's success isn't the same as creating your own. Instead, it is through the process of active inspiration — the act of creating things, applying new ideas to our goals and making mistakes — that we discover who we are and what is important to us. Besides, active inspiration is what results in long-term enthusiasm. Watching someone else's success might leave you feeling excited for a few minutes. However, taking action and applying a new idea to your life will inspire you more than anything someone else could say. Reading and listening can help you think about things in a different way, but creating, producing, and experimenting are what drive you forward. Passive inspiration can give you ideas, but active inspiration will give you power. Too often we spend our lives consuming the world around us instead of creating it. And what matters is the power your action has to inspire you. The best inspiration comes from the application of ideas, not the consumption of them.
