W: Youre right, Ernest. There are too many cars on the road, and the buses are always crowded. Therefore, many people choose a car pool.

M: A car pool?

W: Yeah, it refers to an arrangement where a group of people ride to work together in one car.

M: Oh! I thought a car pool had something to do with a pool. It is interesting. Anyway, could you tell me how to find a car pool? I want to give it a try.

W: Well, you can call the organizer first, providing your address and phone number. And then the organizer will call you back with the names and phone numbers of other people in your area who want a car pool too.

M: Oh. How do you know so much about carpooling, Nancy? From your friends or advertisements?

W: Actually,I read about it in a news report a week ago. Carpooling is a great way to go to work.

M: Thats noteworthy. Did you follow the washing instructions on the label?

W: Yes, I washed it according to the instructions, but the color still faded.

M: I apologize for that. Could you provide your purchase details so we can solve this?

W: Sure, I have the receipt and the product code. Do you need anything else?

M: That should be enough. We can offer a replacement or a refund. Which would you prefer?

W: I would like the latter one, please. The sweater didnt meet my expectations.

M: Understand. We will process your claim for a refund, but you must come here in person and bring the sweater.

W: I know. When should I come?

M: Anytime during our working hours. Well ensure your claim is processed quickly as soon as we receive the sweater.

W: Thank you for your help. I appreciate the quick response.

M: Youre welcome. I apologize for the inconvenience again and hope to serve you better in the future.

A technological wave has been changing the car industry over the last decade. The digital revolution is redesigning all the hardware and software on vehicles.

Electricity is the first change to cars. At first, experts saw it for buses, trains and subways. Beating predictions, electric cars are becoming must-haves in all market areas, not only in public transportation. Environmental rules to reduce air pollution have strengthened this trend, with powerful batteries replacing traditional engines.

Then is the most dramatic change: the autonomous car. Tomorrow, cars will do without drivers. This will happen in stages: starting without feet, then hands, and eventually eyes. Some cars now offer systems that let drivers remove their hands from the wheel in certain situations. The next step is 100% autonomy. Most makers are now conducting road tests.

The last is the connected car. The future car will be fully connected with objects and people. To be autonomous and able to make decisions, cars must share information with the outside world. Eventually, they will communicate with other vehicles and facilities. Many online services will be available to passengers. This marks a big shift where cars become places for service use, turning long travels into chances to work, watch films etc.
