We are seeing a new kind of economy that uses information and knowledge. Working with our hands and using raw materials are not as important as they used to be for making money. Now, what's really important is knowing things. People who start working will use their brains, not their muscles. People who know a lot get paid for what they learned in school and how well they can learn new things. They use their minds to work with symbols, words, numbers, and information.

What does this mean for you? In the future, you might have a job where you create, use, and share information. Right now, most jobs need people to think a lot, and that will be even more true in the future. Managers and workers will handle things like making new products, making sure things are of good quality, and making customers happy. In the future, you will always be learning new skills to keep up with new technology and innovative ways of doing things. You will also have more control over your job. The old ways of working, like having the same job every day and working in the same place every day, are going away gradually. Companies won't tell you exactly what to do in your job. You have to take control and make things happen by yourself.
