M: It's strange that Lucy hasn't been here for a week.

W: I went to her home yesterday. She was found to have cancer.

M: Oh my! I climbed a mountain with her only last month.

 

 

W: Oh dear. It seems that we have run out of salt. Would you please buy some now? 

M: I am busy. I must finish my paper first.The deadline is 11 am and there's only 10 minutes left.

W: OK. I will ask our neighbour for some.

 

 

M: Excuse me, do you mind lowering your voice? I cannot hear the conversation on the screen. 

W: Sorry. I have just received an important call. I will keep silent.

 

 

W: Do you see my hairdryer? I can't find it anywhere. 

M: I used it this morning, but I forget where I placed it. 

W: You are always putting things around casually. I've had enough of it.

 

 

W: May I come in please? I come here to visit my friend. 

M: Good morning, madam. What can I do for you?

W: This is my smart phone. It always dies and I need to spend a lot of time restarting it. Can you fix it?

M: Of course. How long have you used it?

W: I have used it for more than four years. How long will it take to get my phone fixed? I need to use it this  afternoon. 

M: Let me check. Well, I will try my best. But it will take a longer time than you expect. There is something wrong with the processor. The cost of repairs will be high. Given you've had it for so long, I suggest you should buy a new one.

These childhood dreams may vary from day to day. However, I've always known that I want to become a comedian. I was born a little girl who loves to laugh and wants to make other people happy. The job as a comedian attracts me. It shows me the power of comedy to heal the world. I can't resist my desire to make audiences laugh. I love to observe people's daily life and perform something reflecting social life in a funny light. Life isn't perfect, and in fact it's filled with sadnesses. Especially now with rapid urbanization, more and more people are getting disappointed. They need comedy as a way to let go of their unhappiness and reach inner peace, and the very thought of bringing them joy makes me feel the job is worthwhile.
